<< Hmm...you're right, I don't know if AMEX will pricematch this thing!!! Oh well, can't make money off this one. >>

If AMEX wont' PM, what do you think their reason would be? because there's a rebate involved? do AMEX care though?

CHINAFIFA: Price match to andaratech at $59.95 if they still have them. And Amex DID price Match mine -- i have the check in hand already for $20.05 ($79.99 net cost - $59.95) . I simply stated in my submission that I used a coupon at Staples and Staples will not PM if I used a coupon. Worked for me. Alternatively wait 14 days until Staples PM policy expires and then submit it to Amex.

Thank you for the suggestion. But can you translate the following sentence into English: Alternatively wait 14 days until Staples PM policy expires and then submit it to Amex? Staples PM policy expire....AMEX? me no understand as a junior member. The other thing is, I think it's very hard for find that 20 dollars coupon code now.

thanks for the post. staples rebates are the best. for those new to rebates, try staples before any other stores. you will not regret it.

i'm sorry, but for those of you trying to PM with amex, is'nt that just pushing things a bit much???

this is costing me $0.73 shipped to my house, WITH a dozen pens, so basically i'm buying pens, whcih i need for school anyway (which are actually $0.74), and getting the scanner for free,

why try to get money back, just take the free scanner and call it a day and not press your luck

just my 2 cents

CHINAFIFA, I will try to translate. Mumble, bumble, mumble, bumble, .....Staples Policy is as follows:

<< If you find a lower price, anywhere else, on a new identical item, just show us the lower price when you buy the item at Staples or within 14 days after your Staples purchase - and we'll give you 110% of the difference >>

American Express Blue Policy is is they do not price match stores that price match themselves. If you wait 14 days to submit your price match to American Express -- Staples time will have expired, they will not price match because it is too late, so AmEx should do it without any issues.

Did that help 🙂

when I check the order status, Subtotal: $100.11
Coupon Codes: :- $20.00
Tax: $8.25
Shipping: $0.00
Total: $88.36
so staples apply tax to the subtotal $100.11. Is this the new policy, it used to apply tax after the coupon.
Any one know?

I had just the opposite experience...

Staples has ALWAYS taxed my pre-coupon amount, in-store, online or by phone. So I expected that tax would be added to my pre-coupon total today, but I called in my order at 3:30AM this morning for the Visioneer scanner and was only charged tax on the net (after-coupon) total.

this means the pricing at the warehouse.

I got in on the deal a couple of weeks ago for this scanner. The software and cables alone are worth at least $20. However, if you have a choice, get the box with the XP sticker on it. This means it has the latest versions of the software. Even though the box says Paperport 6, you get Paperport 7.

if we'er going to return the ones we got before 02/14, are we going to get the full $99.98 refund if we used $30 off $150?
i'm going to return/re-buy it to get the $80 rebate

MrBentley

what did you provide as proof for your price match? Did you print out the first product description or the page that shows the number of items instock? Or what?
Thanks...

I went to my local B&M staples and picked up the scanner. There were tonnes of them. BUT when I picked up a rebate form from the counter, the rebate form said that the valid purchase date is between February 17, 2002 to February 18, 2002!!! It's different from the one online!!!

So which is the correct date???

I purchased the 8100 from the $70 rebate deal. I already sent in my rebate w/UPC so I can't bring it back. Anyway, the $10 doesn't bug me that much, but I got Paperport 6.1, not 7.0. I emailed Scansoft (makers of Paperport) and they wrote me that only versions 7.0 and 8.0 are XP supported. I can't understand how the scanner can be designated as "Designed for XP", yet some of the software included isn't.

I have the updated driver, but feel that if some boxes have Paperport 7.0, then I should be able to get a free update. I called Visioneer (toll call) and gave up after 30 minutes on hold.

Has anyone been able to get a free upgrade to Paperport 7.0? Thanks for your help.

I just got off the phone with a Staples CSR. I wanted to call in the order so I can add the B&W TV. Well, as soon as she heard me wanting to place an order, she said:

"is this for the Visioneer scanner? You can't use the coupon for it since there is a $80 rebate. Even if you did use a coupon, the rebate center will not give you full $80."

I haven't even mentioned the word COUPON yet!!! It's a good thing she did not ask my name - the last thing I want is to be on their "black list".

I told her that in the past coupons have never prevented me from getting full rebates, and that disclaimer of "not valid with any offers or promotions" is in all rebate offers from Staples. She was firm, just said they have changed their coupon policy, and it will not work this time. I of course didn't want to argue any more, and it looks like we may not get a free scanner after all...
