udon, it's possible that you may be able to get it for the $60.xx as the previous poster did but don't hang your hopes on it. Depending on the store mgr, he may try to tack on the shipping, he may know about the rebate that's already on the web, etc. Pm's with a rebate involved are hit and miss.

If he won't pm for you, take the coupon I pm'd you and pay the $85 then submit your rebate. If you have Amex Blue (and paid for the scanner with it), have them pm Andara and you'll still be making money on the purchase.

Thanks again to the original deal poster and the person who posted the AndaraTech price. Printed the page from AndaraTech, walked into the Staples B&M and walked out with the scanner for $65. Filling out the rebate forms today and will sit back to wait for my $80.

I love this forum.

When I did the Envision 19" monitor for $120 thing a while back. two different CSR's told me that the use of a coupon had nothing to do with a rebate (at least if you were purchasing multiple items) because the coupon applied to the ORDER, not to any individual item. Therefore, there should be no problem. Some people, particularly in b&m stores just want to be the FBI sometimes...

«would the best course of action be to now ...»

The best course of action for today (Saturday), would be to go to a brick and mortar store and go for the price match with Andara. They should add $5 for shipping and do the match. After the printed ads come out tomorrow, you will have a much harder time making the match in the stores because they will tell you that there is a current rebate for that item.

cheetoden,

I'm filling out the online rebate form. It says valid for purchases at stores, online, etc. from Feb 14 - Feb 18.

I am going to return the scanner to Staples, as the rebate issue really bothers.

I would say this is a good idea for all of you that jumped in...

What do you mean the rebate issue bothers you? The rebate form says valid from the 14 through the 18 and there are no restrictions on the website to using a coupon. A coupon has never been considered a promotion.

Whatever . . I got three (for family members of course).

nowhere on the rebate form does it say that this is invalid with the use of a coupon.

so can staples really refuse to honor this from probably close to 1000 customers??

my answer is yes, but am i going to fight it anyway,

again, my answer is yes

I wouldn't doubt that Staples will prevent the system from accepting a coupon if you go to use it. But, for those that got in, no way are they going to refuse.

By the way, the scanner is listed on Staple's website again.

For those who are worried about the rebate, here is what happened to me during Black Friday when this same issue came up:

According to the coupon, no "other discounts can be applied". I tried to use a $30 off $150 coupon to buy the Envision monitor which should have been $159. I would then send in the $100 rebate for a net outlay of $30+tax. However, since Staples only had the $70 rebate form, the manager took off the difference on the spot. However, since the total was less that $150, I could not use the coupon. Well, the manager allowed me to purchase a "free after rebate" item which already had an "instant discount" and apply the merchandise to my total. Hence on my receipt, there was a "price adjustment" for the monitor AND an item purchase that had an "instant discount". You may ask, did I receive the $100 Envision rebate? Yes, I did.

Sweet, thanks for telling me it was on the website again. I just grabbed another. I got in on this with the $70 rebate. Can't see how they could reject this one as they are completely different. Already gave the other to someone for $20 to help them out. So now I have another. Hehe. Also picked up 5 reams of good paper for $17 and delivered to my door for free. Can't beat that!

Thanks again.

Do a search for Visioneer and it should show up. The link posted doesn't seem to work anymore.

Too many paranoid people here. I've always used coupons and always have gotten the rebates.

Chill out!!!
