I won't mention the members name but someone on FW just posted that Amex Blue will no longer pm Staples at all. Here's the info he posted
<< I called an Amex CSR just to ask about the conditions of the Amex Blue PM policy informed me of the following...
Purchases made through a store that offers a pricematching policy WILL NOT be eligible for Amex pricematching, even if the store's PM is expired or not valid for the particular purchase. She mentioned staples specifically.
So, I delved further and asked about a specific situation, the visioneer 8100 scanner at staples (as I was planning on getting one). The person laughed a bit and said that she'd had a lot of calls about that. Because staples has a pricematching policy (which most of you couldnt use b/c of the $80 MIR and/or the coupon used), you cannot use Amex Blue pricematching at all. This includes calling up between 15 and 60 days after the purchase (as staples' PM expires after 14 days). No PM will be offered through Blue for staples purchases. Period. No exceptions. If staples won't let you PM b/c of your coupon or a MIR, tough, don't come crying to Amex Blue. If you find a better deal 6 weeks after the purchase, tough no pricematching for you b/c you should have found it within the staples 14 day period. >>
Don't know if this info is true but my question would be, why would anyone call and start asking questions about a specific item? I'll be highly p1ssed if my pm, that was submitted over a week ago gets denied because of this. If this is true alot of us are gonna get screwed....
