1 dead pixel is not as bad as the horizontal stabilisor wires in a trinitron CRT... those things really bug me off.

Those lines do occasionally get to me... I won't get a Trinitron again, but it was a free upgrade courtesy of Dell and is leages ahead of the POS el-cheapo 17" monitor you get at the bottom rung.
 
i got 2 dead lines on my monitor, but i want to upgrade my computer with video card, motherboard, and memory first ,, however i'm going to try to get a monitor for my bday and use this monitor as a second for dual.

Har har har. Really -- this was the most informative thread I could find about what do do. And the 0-dead-pixel, that's ISO Class-1, not Class-2. Class-2 is 3 on/off, 5 color or so for 15". Still, I can imagine the company would find a way to dance around it. and not honor it.
