I ORDERED AN 1800FP AND I GET 1 FREAKING DEAD PIXEL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SCREEN
SH!T SH!T SH!T SH!T SH!T

Calm down please.

You may be able to return it. Tell them you are unsatisfied with the product. Though I do remember they won't exchange unless 5+ Dead pixels or something.

EDIT: They, as I meant, Dell. I dunno why i thought you ordered it from dell. Contact the company which you purchased it from, see there replacement policy on LCDs/File for an RMA. If that doesn't work, contact the manufactor, and see what they do about replacements.

Not that this will make you feel any better but, when I bought my new LCD I asked for a Pixel check. It cost me £20 but it stopped me going through what your going through now. 🙁

Mfg's and distributors consider one dead pixel acceptable. I went thru (2) 2000FP's and both had excessive dead/stuck pixels. I have (2) 1800FP's now and the one I have hooked up is perfect, and I hope the 2nd one is too. I'll know shortly.

If you see me bitching then you know what's up. 😉

holy sh!t i just want to piss on this thing, put it back in the box, and run over it like 238742394872 times. then send it back to dell and say there was a defect

Go head, they might still not take it. LOL

Wonderful, I have a stuck pixel on the bottom of my 1800FP that's only visible on a light background. 🙁

Maybe I'll be able to massage it out.

<edit> it was a speck of dust, wohoo. 😉

You're missing out.... 🙂

give it some time i thought the 1502fp i got my mom had dead pixels. i was freaking out when i realized it was dust... then the next time i saw dust and did the same thing, i thought it was a dead pixel.

turns out she has no dead pixels.

give it some time and make sure it's not dust!

Check my edit above which was before your reply. 😉 Dust will play some mean tricks on you.

When I got my Samsung 191T Ifirst thing I did was check like crazy for dead/excited pixels.
freaked myself out when I mistook dust paticles as dead pixels 3 or 4 times before I brushed them all off and found I had a perfect panel.

The manufacturer may have a an acceptable number of dead/excited pixels, but a customer that has just spent hundreds of dollars on a LCD, they expect a perfect unit.

I am not at all looking forward to finding any on mine, but one or two light blue ones will be acceptable as long as they are off to the side.

Dont freak out over a few dead pixels man.

LCDs are like a box of chocolates , you never know what your gonna get. 🙂

u gotta wonder why they don't test for dead pixels before they release these for sale. it can't be all that hard to setup a sensor that checks the lcd while it displays all black all white etc. they could then sell the dead pixel units for a discount, atleast that would be honest.
