Hmm... I ordered my system yesterday at 10:00 PM. I am having trouble checking the order status, anybody with similar problems? I get this message: "Currently, your profile does not have any customer numbers tied to it. To retrieve data for a specific customer number, please enter the appropriate information in the Find missing orders section below." I hope this is not their way of rejecting my order. My order number is some how invalid too. One more thing, is the Radeon 9700 TX a good upgrade for its price. How does it compare with the Pro version? Thanks

I shipped it via the $90 UPS, didn't know it was so easy to open a shipping account at the time. Anyway, yes it does have 4 RIMM slots total. Since I got it with 2x128MB modules, there are 2 free slots.

Also, just got off the phone with a CSR. I asked about ordering multiple systems (I ordered a second one lastnight, same as first but with a 9700TX instead of GF4 Ti4200), and this CSR says that it won't be a problem for rebates (yes, I did the the CSR's info). Also, do NOT use a photocopy of your packing slip, it has a very high chance of being rejected. Request an invoice sent via email and print copies of that (they send you a nice pdf of your invoice). The CSR put me on hold and sent it to me, and I actually got the email before I got off the phone with her.

Now...time to go get these rebates taken care of.

You can request your packing slip and invoice here.

I got the same message also however I found that if you go to this link and enter your order number and your zip code in the middle boxes. This should show your order status.

You can request your packing slip and invoice here.

The third party company that Dell uses for sending packing slips is having problems according to the CSR, so they might take a while to actually get sent. Not sure about online invoices, those should be working but I'm guessing they will be slow due to the massive number of requests they're sure to get over this deal. That's why the CSR suggested that she do it so I'd have it right away.

I can't get over the video card upgrade (Radeon 9700 TX) that I didn't choose. I want to know if it is worth paying 133 for this card. Thanks

I would personally consider the $133 for the 9700TX way worth it. They only difference between it and the Pro is the clock speed, which I am assuming can be overclocked quite easily. The RAMDAC is the same, it is 256 bit, everything else is the same... so in other words if you overclock this puppy you are getting a 9700 PRO for $133...

I can't wait to get this baby!

Thanks !

YES! I qualify! haha

Is there like a $150 savings or something like that? I saw people talking about calling Dell after they recieve the 8250 and get back $150

BVG? What is that

I was just looking at two of my past orders with Dell. On one of my orders I had chosen the free memory upgrade, and right there on the packing slip it says "not eligible for rebate". On the other order, I had NOT chosen that free upgrade option, and there is no disclaimer there. So I would assume, if the 80 HD is going to disqualify you, it will state so right on your packing slip.

Interesting...Anyone who ordered the 80Gb drive get their packing slip yet?

(And if the packing slip does say not eligable for rebate, that doesn't mean it's
gonna be so, it just means you're gonna have to get mean with Dell eventually...)

If all the rebates go through, this is the deal of the year by far, i think.

to buy a whole system for less than 150... wow

anyone agree?

I didn't jump on this deal even though I go to school that is eligible for the rebates.

It's simply too much money for the rebates.

I go to UCLA and I don't think I saw it on any of the lists, am I still eligible for the 2 $100 rebates? Also, do I need to request anymore invoices or packing slips or will copies suffice for all of the rebates? Thanks!

WARNING TO THOSE WHO SIGNED UP FOR FEDEX! You signed up for Fedex Express delivery! VERY EXPENSIVE!
Go back and add ground service to your account. I don't know how fast this process is. I just did it and got the message that my request was being processed.
Hopefully it will be in effect when Dell calls FedEx to pick up the computer.

i just put my request in with fedex to have ground delivery too, it's nice how it doesn't tell you that on the sign up page, i'd recommend anyone who used fedex do the same, who knows how much express delivery will be
