2000 orderers?? probably 5000 orders. This has been on every deals site, and i even had 5 people email me the deal.

They shall pay for killing my dream of my new raid array.

I think it's terrible that you all think its funny to ruin a small company's reputation because they made a price mistake, big whoop. Your greed is no reason to ruin the company. How many of you would have ordered the hard drive if it was a normal price? Probably none! You try to take advantage of a mistake then you post bad ratings just because they wouldn't honor it. :(

you guys ordered something that OBVIOUSLY was a price mistake and now you want to ruin their reputation

and now their is talk of a class action lawsuit
rolleye.gif

im sorry but a small company like this would probably go bankrupt fullfilling all these orders
what do you guys expect?

though i do think shipping out broken calculators is an assenine thing to do

if I know its a price mistake i order and if it gets cancelled no biggie

its not like i lost anything

i doubt the CSR's there know anything and i would never take their word unless it was in writing

god forbid it should happened to your web store?

this is a lot different than a B&M doing this because

they can change the price right after they realize the mistake they can change it

and its not like 2000 people can order it before they realize it is a mistake

I agree...sometimes we win, sometimes they catch on through the AT affect. Too bad this time....I could've used the space, but it's not like Zones swindled us like a certain Florida based company.

You know what's terrible!!!! When they charged my credit card today for the 2 drives i ordered. Now that's terrible. And everyone else got charged also.

Even if only 1000 people got in on it. That's a lot of Dough!!!! Enough to make me close down my little internet store and open new again.

How about all the dam spam im going to get from now about their future deals!!! And all the places they give my email to and name?? They will and did make money off of this.

And they are not a small company.

Their story here:

Zones, Inc. resells over 150,000 computer technology products and services to America's fastest growing businesses. From its inception in 1986 to today, our promise to our customers has been service based on choice, convenience and competitive prices. As a place to work, a place to invest, reseller partner or be a customer, Zones delivers, always has- and always will.

I especially like the "Zones delivers, always has- and always will"

And if you think they are nice check their return rules. QUOTE

"Unopened Product: If the supplier's factory seal is intact, you may return an unopened product for exchange or refund within 14 days of your invoice date (if permitted by manufacturer's return policy), subject to a minimum 15% restocking fee."

And also this %30 killer!!!!!

"Any deviation from the return process outlined above will result in a delay of your refund, an additional restocking fee up to 30%, and possibly a refusal of your return."

Do you still think they are a wonderful small company?? They did this before last year too!!

PS.HEHE reseller down to 1.43 i shall get my wish of below 1 before midnight.

so they are not a small company that does not change much and if you dont read the return policy before you buy something than you are an idiot

also did they put a hold on your credit card or was it charged?
every single place i order from will put a hold on the account automatically after i order something online

if they *charged* you than you do have a valid complaint

They didn't make a price mistake. According to them:

In regards to your recent order for the 160gb Maxtor hard drive (item# 1021145); we received inaccurate information from our supplier and they have notified us that the product will not be fulfilled to us. you dont understand that it wasnt a pricing mistake acording to them. They were selling stuff that they didnt have and were not getting according to them in everyone's email cancellation.

They will have them, you can count on that. And if they didnt want to sell them that low. Why did the charge everyone??

"They wasted my time and energy, so have to pay for it."

They are paying for this: before I made the rating it's 1.32; after I fininshed, it's 1.25.

And you seem to ignore that they received inaccurate information from their supplier. Whether it's true or not, any reasonable person can see that it was a long shot at best. I do wonder if this was a ploy to compile a list of individuals who're likely to spend money on PC hardwares though.

I agree with this post. I think some people take these kinds of activities way too far. I still can't believe some of the people will do anything to save a few bucks. This forum has some very good deals posted everyday, but knowing that some people in this very same forum will trade their own kidneys for the $120 HD, then trash the company cuz they didnt fulfill the greed of these people, is truly a revulsion.

You guys who trashed their resellerratings suck! Its a tiny inconvenience to you especially when you knew it was a mistaken advertisement to begin with and you might not get the deal because of it, and yet you try hard to destroy their credibility that they've spent years building.

This is no ma and pop shop you sh!theads, they've been around a long time and have worked hard to build a reputable business. Ascenine and very selfish and I hope it comes around to you the same way some day.

So you think it's ok for them to sell a Hard drive that they do not have any in stock. Collect money then ship if they want or cancel all the orders if they want.

Hey im selling them for $100. why dont you all send me money Paypal. Then once i get the money i'll talk to maxtor and try and get 5000 of them for $90 each and make $50000 out of the deal. Or if i dont get 5000 orders, i'll just cancel all of the orders or if maxtor wont cut me a deal.

And hey i promise to give all the money back.

Just the same as they are doing. They did not every have the drive to sell. That is the main point!!! No preorder, they charged cards!!!!

PS 1.1 on resellers and falling.

SO ok you think it's OK for them to put a hold on monies on everyone's credit and debit cards.

You dont work for them mchammer187 do you. you think it's ok what they did right??

THEY DID NOT HAVE THE DRIVES TO SELL!!!!! What dont you get about that?? There should of been no charge or authorization.

Temporary authorization can turn into a charge really fast also!!!! You do realize that dont you??

Ahh the hell with it i might as well go talk to a rock

I agree with the cancellation of the orders. I don't agree with the email that they are putting out stating that
they are not going to carry this product. If the item appears on their website anytime in the near future then
a lawsuit should be brought against them. If the price was a mistake then state it as such, but by stating
that they aren't gonna carry the product is inferring that the price was correct in the first place.

talk about passion! well, there it is. to bad it's being wasted on a silly mistake.

it's not the retailers fault but rather the suppliers fault, so how about we give'em a break? if you guys really feel like venting, how about you just never buy a maxtor hard drive or product ever again? calm down fellas, a temporary hold on your CC is nothing. if it's on your debt card, then maybe it is, but you shouldn't even be using that on the web to begin with!
