Refurbished HP TouchPads, both 16GB and 32GB versions, will be posted for sale through the HP eBay store at: 6:00 p.m. (Central Time), Sunday, December 11th.

If you are interested in purchasing a refurbished TouchPad, please make yourself a reminder to log-on to eBay a few minutes before the sale starts to make your purchase. there is already a 15 page topic on slickdeals about this, so good luck to everyone )
The TouchPads will be available for sale here (under "Laptops"):

Link to eBay removed

No links to eBay even if it is a store

Important information about this sale:

• There will be both 16GB and 32GB versions available, selling at a fixed price of $99 and $149 respectively…while supplies last.

• There is also an optional 3-piece Accessory bundle with a Case, Charging Dock & Wireless Keyboard for $79 (est. value $199.97).

• Purchases must be made through the HP eBay store via PayPal only. If you do not have eBay or PayPal accounts, create your accounts before the sale begins to avoid delays.

• The product offer will be announced to the general public on Monday morning and is expected to sell-out quickly thereafter, so don’t delay.

• There will be a limit of two (2) TouchPad SKUs per eBay member, sold on a first come, first served basis.

• This sale is not associated with any HP-sponsored employee purchase program and there are no additional discounts for HP employees off the HP eBay store price.

• All sales are final. There are no returns unless product arrives defective.

• The refurbished TouchPad product comes with a 90-day limited warranty.

• Please note that eBay orders only allow one ship-to location per order.

You may want to remove the text in bold. I'm hoping HP has one auction for each with quantity of 1000, instead of multiple auctions. HP is finally getting rid of the last of there stock and will say bye bye to Web OS end of this month.

I know there is a Alpha Android version for this tablet, but it needs work.

I wonder how eBay will handle 1000s of slickdealers on the same item at the same time. :)

:hmm: Imagine thousands of desperate, bleeting sheeple, anxious to increase their credit balances in the name of obsolete, out of support hardware.

Maybe I should go ahead and file my RMA. My touchstone charging died about a month ago.

Heavy & ugly thing! One may consider other tablets (Playbook, Asus, etc...)
Go to the nearest BB/OD and check out the Playboo/Asus, else you may regret your investment.

This thing works really well for taking notes in classes, got it for $99 new back in August. I was the creator of the original HotDeals thread here about it. Glad to see this is still a hot deal months later. If you dont mind the OS not as polished as iOS or Android but still a solid OS then this tablet may be for you. Plays amazon prime instant videos really well. With the blutooth keyboard I use it to take notes in class and it is really useful much lighter then a laptop, and for note purposes works well. Also a great bathroom toy. :p

i would hardly call it ugly or heavy. unless you are a meterosexual or some other denomination :p

i agree with mnewsham. the webos is really solid. i've had mine for a few months and find it to be very fluid and intuitive.

I really like mine and use it much more than I expected. Got it for $99 in August as well.

I have been running android on mine for awhile now. I am currently on alpha 3 and I have had zero problems some others have though. Only issue which really wasn't something I thought would work was that setting it up as a voip phone I haven't been able to get the mic to work but I only messed around with it for like 10 min.

Good deal if you can get one no matter what some others have said.

I like mine better than my Ipad. I use this and my wife uses the Ipad.

OP, you realize that eBay threads, regardless of the deal or who's selling it aren't allowed in hot deals, right?
I thought it's only if you post the eBay link to a specific item, not the shop of a widely known reseller?

Even Newegg has an eBay store...Didn't know that until now.
Of course posting SunnyD's eBay store is crossing a fine line since SunnyD is not a widely known merchant like Newegg, Amazon, Dell, HP, etc...are, but I don't see much wrong in posting Newegg's eBay store.

I'd say leave the thread open and just remove the link.
Looks like a mod beat me to it.

I will be getting one.

Good luck this time, hopefully their servers will be up to the task. Took 50 days for the 2 32GB I ordered to be delivered. Both of them still unopened to this day. Playing with the 3rd 32GB I got via hhgregg mid Sept., love tweaking with it so far.

I have a handful of different tablets, and found the TouchPad to be the worst of the lot, even for $100, I wouldn't buy another one. I gave mine away almost immediately.

Each to his own. You probably didnt update it and take a little care to get it running right. Once this is done. I have found it to run Very well. I choose it over the Ipad.

HPPLAY is better than Itunes any day of the week.
Splashtop works flawlessly.
It does flash quite well. LOL, Apple No.
The screen looks just as good as Apples.
The touchstone charging base RULEZ.
This thing hooks up to most email clients with Ease.
Facebook is quite awesome.

Install the Homebrew app, get her to 1.5ghz, do some tweaks and this thing runs circles around the Ipad.

Like I said each to his own however I prefer 5 FIVE HP Touchpads to one regular priced NEW Ipad. ;)

I actually really like my Touchpad. My biggest concern is still the lack of applications. Theres just not that much out for it. Granted, there probably is a app for any major category of use. I've been waiting for the CyanogenMod port to get better, I'm glad to see it continually progressing.

I'll have to see if I can get in on this deal on the 11th. One might make a good Christmas present.

I'm running alpha3 as well and it's sweet. Dual boot makes this the best tablet IMO. Cm7 is solid. Don't let the alpha label fool you. It's closer to nightly than alpha or beta.

well looks like the link got removed for whatever reason. Hopefully anyone who wants to try to get one will have it bookmarked somewhere so they can go quickly to the place where they are

The 12/11 date is for HP employees only, the sale to the general public doesn't happen until the next Morning... so what are the chances that there will be any left at all?

These are refurbs, returns, gotta figure NOBODY returned a unit that wasn't defective, not when a working unit was easy to sell at a nice profit. These may have all kinds of minor, but real defects like a few bad pixels etc.

The people that bought the product in June at the original $600+ price two months before the fire sale wouldn't have been able to sell at a profit?
