Already getting a company discount and when I called they said I can only get one discount. How did you guys get around this. I think they logged this call to my account because they seem to summarize the issue and the end of the call.

I read through so many posts just now, I'm fried. Can someone just give me a green or red on this. As its not marked dead, I assume its still a go. BTW what do people suggest as a phone when I sign up. I wanted Cingular's htc wizard AKA 8125 should I wait for sprints ppc-6700? And if I should just stick with a clamshell what should i go with? Thanks, your opinions are greatly appreciated.

Green!
I got the Sanyo MM-8300 and could not be more pleased.

Plug mm8300 and your zipcode into www.wirefly.com and see what you come up with.
Also. look for the reviews at www.cnet.com

If I get the A900 and then sell it on ebay and buy a used treo, will I have any problems switching the phones? with tmobile it was just a matter of swapping out the SIM -- didn't have to nofity tmobile or anything -- but how does CDMA work?

UPDATE...

Just wanted to give everyone an update on the service so far. I've received my first bill and I've gone the Sprint store several times to make sure the plan is correct. Everything is up and working as advertised. I started my plan on 2/9/2006 and the billing cycle starts on the 12th of every month. I was only charged $2 for the prorated minutes from 2/9-2/11 and was charged $30 for the period 2/12-3/11. I also got my activation waived and my total bill after taxes and $6 charge for insurance was $46 and some change.

There's been some confusion about the type of plan and people not seeing the SERO plan on the website. Technically there is no "SERO" plan. The employee referral is just a heavily discounted "Fair and Flexible" plan. So if I go over my 500 minutes, I still pay $5 for every 50 minutes I go over. This is important if people are looking for the word "SERO" because it does not appear anywhere on the bill. Just make sure that you are being charged the correct monthly amount.

It also seems that opening accounts and getting a price match to phones is very much YMMV. Talk to the sales rep, be nice, and maybe with a little luck and some nice conversation, they'll give you a good deal.

I've read through this thread and Wow! Alot of info here. I am a current sprint customer who is now out of contract. According to the SERO link provided at the start of the thread SERO is not available in my area ( mid Georgia ). So I'm debating on whether I should just call and try to get some kind of discount or hope that my affiliate network ( Alamosa maybe? ) gets gobbled up in March. Any suggestions? Most of you seem very experienced dealing with retentions, any advice to help? I know that sounds silly but I have actually never dealt with it as of yet.lol I suppose if all else fails I can go to cingular as they are offering a comparable plan to what i currently am using but with more options and a new phone which I could really use.

Can anybody from sprint PM on a referral. I would much appreciate it. (Do not need it anymore, I got someone locally)

edit:
FYI: This is a YMMV as far as getting it at the actual store. He indicated there were a lot of fraud referrals now and they are not allowed to switch people unless you go through the website. He noted that it is against company policy to do it anyway else.

Are there any Sprint Employees out there?

I'm going to sign-up for this deal TODAY. :D

I'd really appreciate an employee referral PM.

Thanks!

I emailed ecare yesterday and was told that I am not in an affiliated market and that I can get SERO. I then told them I can't login using my zipcode and asked what I should do. They came back and told me that I am in an affiliated market and sorry for the confusion. So I called customer service and was eventually handed off to retentions. After talking to the nice lady for awhile she offered me 1000 minutes, unlimited web/data, free night and weekends starting at 7 for free, a 15% discount, and either the a900 or the 920 ( possibly others ) for $99 plus a $100 credit on my account. All this would require a 2 year contract ( I'm out of contract for the moment ) and $46/month. I'm currently paying $55/month but after taxes etc it's closer to $62.

Anway, I'm trying to decide if I want to take them up on this or not and what phone to select if I do.

edited because I accidentally frowned with my emoticon.:p

"Email address not recognized. Please check the spelling of the Sprint Nextel employee email address you entered."

Anyone got a valid Sprint email address that I can put in? first.last@sprint.com no workie

Also: I am looking for a Sprint cell phone that takes regular SD cards and plays Mp3s with an easy to use interface for my wife. She texts a lot so no funky buttons.

I have too many gadgets myself and have been looking at the Treo 650/700 for Cell, PDA, mp3 player and camera all in one. Is that a good model or are there better Sprint phones for about the same price?

I have a couple of questions for someone who knows about this plan:

I just signed up and it said Power Vision was included. Then I got an email indicating I had UNLIMITED VISION ACCESS (rather than power vision).

Is this a mistake, or is that how it's supposed to look? I signed up with the A900, which I assume is a power vision phone.

Also assuming that I have to call up to complain, I have another question. I am actually planning on using a Treo 650 (and selling the A900 that comes with my plan). The 650 is a Vision phone. However I want Power Vision on the plan so that I don't have to pay to upgrade later if I switch phones. So I am wondering if a Vision phone will work under the Power Vision plan (although not using Power Vision, just Vision).

Thanks for any help you might be able to provide.

From what I understand, Power Vision and Vision depends on the phone you open the plan with. Since you got an A900 like me, you have power vision which means you can access the EVDO network. The network is actually pretty fast and even faster than my girlfriend's treo on the verizon network.

You do get unlimited web access with the plan, and which "vision" network you're on depends on the phone you signed up with.

Has anyone signed up at a Los Angeles B&M? I'd rather do that than sign up online.

Please post locations! Thanks!
