Why Ergotron is the best for multi stands is for the fact they are paper thin bases, your keyboard won't hit the stand like the stock dell 1901FP and 2001FP
kinda like NECs 1880 1980sx monitors. There stands adjust monitors right ,left ,up, down ,and allows for rotation forward, backward, in, out, and holds them perfectly togeather. There isnt a stand that can compete with these for dual set up.There arms are top notch

Ergotron seen here

Probably but im gonna look for some discount for S&P and hopefully knock it down another 15 or 20%

I check a bunch of places, they're all around 160ish anad some higher

Is a 400:1 contrast ratio really that good? I just picked up a 19'', and it's got a 600:1 contrast ratio, and side by side, the 600:1 looked much more clear.

When does this end?

I can't decide if I want to sell the 1800FP I have now and get this.

Or just put the money towards another 1800FP and run dual monitors.

What is the refresh rate? Also does DVI look that much better than the regular analog? I've got a DVI output on my card that I haven't used because I dont have a DVI capable monitor.

Also how will this thing look NOT running at 1600x1200. I mean when DOOM3 comes out no one is going to be able to run at 1600 without some serious slowdowns. So we'd all have to scale back our native resolutions. My question is will it look like crap then?

I suppose if there was one right in the middle it might be noticable, but keep in mind how many pixels there are on a 1600x1200 monitor.

I was looking before and I couldn't find any test programs or test images, care to share a link?

Thanks for this great deal, I picked up the 2000fp when it was going for 780 after tax+s&h about 6-8 months ago... I just hope you guys don't make me do this ever 6-8 months, I'm broke as it is...

DVI is totally digital, no analog conversion... It's less likely to pick up noise, or other anomalies from the digital to analog, then analog to digital conversion (dark screen waves as I've come to see with the analog input on my 2kfp were the worst I've seen)... You also don't have to position or size the image on your screen(it doesn't even let you), since the videocard is telling the monitor excatly what pixels to turn on and off with DVI...

I cant remember where I read this info, either in the review here on anand, or on one of the boards. Basically if you cant run games at 1600x1200 such as Doom3, you can scale 1600x1200 down to 800x600 and not have interpolation (terminology/sp?). Another way around this problem that this monitor features is that if you want to run at a lower res for games such as 1024x768, the monitor will scale down to that Res, leaving the outer pixels of the monitor off (not using all of the monitors pixesl) obviously this solution wont be getting full use of the monitor, but the image wont be compromised any more in this way.

Anyone who knows/understands more please feel free to correct me, I'm just going off what I remember, from what I've read: )

quick question: if the panel is made by LG.Plillips, why does ul.com list benq corp as the manufactor instead of LG?? I always thought ul.com was a good way to find the true manufactor of a "branded" product.

What does everyone put in for company name when checking out? What if this is just for personal use? It wont let you chekc out unless you enter a company name into the billing field. I'm afraid if I enter anything in there my credit card company will reject it. However I can't check out unless I do.. What did you guys do?

The people that are planning on going dual setup with these things do you have dual DVI cards or do you use a secondary card with DVI? I know most cards out today have VGA and DVI, but from the anand review it looks like running VGA to this monitor is not that great of an idea. Just curious,

This is too much for me to not notice. I bought a Dell 1800FP in January, Dell 1901FP in September, and now this! I wish I had a coupon to lower it just a little, but I'm going to wait until Monday and see what they have to offer coupon wise.

Zmatrix - I upgraded from a (good) 19" crt to the 2000FP a year ago and have LOVED it - soooo much easier on the eyes. You are in for a treat, my friend :)
