Ouch to think that I got a 1901FP for $517.20 late August. Thinking if a 1" screen size difference and for $279 more would be reasonable. Tempted to use my Dell Preferred Account to get this.

BTW, what states besides Oregon do not pay tax with Dell Small Business?

Small business saleswon't work on your Dell Preferred account. they call to verify your company Tax ID# :(:(:( (I tried doing that already)

Unless they changed their policies within the last few weeks I don't what the hassle would be. I've ordered a lot with this 2 year old account before and never had any one call from Dell to verify. Plus I get a monthly e-mail (Small Business) with 15% coupon codes which I've given away when I had no use for it. Same thing with my monthly catalog from Dell. I got the Dell 1901FP 4 business days after ordering it, how's that for service. ;)

Right now I don't see why spending an extra $279 for additional 1" screen size justifiable. I'll wait a year perhaps and see what comes up. Too bad they don't offer this LCD for the same price at Home and Home Office, only 10% off.

That pick was when I first got the 1901FP's back when the $40 home coupon stacked on SB side, got them for $449 shipped.I was running two PC's with stock XP PRO's hacked in that pic testing there pixels. But yes I run a MX cordless and a basic IBM keyboard with a Belkin ERGOPAD.This is my preferd setup.Ergopad is Gel'lysoft*!* Plextor external's is were I wan't to be...
I love these Dell monitors,I did think the 1901FP was a little on the Dark side when in dark game settings,I wonder abought this 2001FP if it has the same brightness issue..?

and we share the same tast,I see

Justin

Ergo Arm

Its just a monitor arm

if link doesn't work search for
Manufacturer Part# 45-088-200
Dell Part# 06-18856

under small business

I need it because right now my pair of 2000 are on the desk and leaves no room for axim cradle. And I can' wait for the usb ports :)

Ergotron They make the best multi monitor stands and swinging arms.Check around and you can find a good deal most likely better than Dells.
Why Ergotron is the best for multi stands is for the fact they are paper thin bases, your keyboard won't hit the stand like the stock dell 1901FP and 2001FP
kinda like NECs 1880 1980sx monitors. There stands adjust monitors right ,left ,up, down ,and allows for rotation forward, backward, in, out, and holds them perfectly togeather. There isnt a stand that can compete with these for dual set up.There arms are top notch

Ergotron seen here

Awesome deal. I have a 2000fp and if this is at least as good then I will be happy just to have a nicer bezel. 4 USB ports are going to be nice. The only thing missing are some integrated speakers and you can really use it as a TV.

Oh, I'm so glad you were not the designer. That would completely destroy this monitor but fortunately the actual designers still had you in mind with the Dell AS500 soundbar.

I literally just got my 1901 on Monday. There is no way I could justify another $200 for an inch

PPRIOR, thanks for posting this deal. I've been wanting a large LCD that could do 1600*1200 for quite a while. I just hate to think how much this will really end up costing me by the time I get my CC payed off
I may be poor, but at least my eyes will be happy.

My 2000FP did (nice one, in fact). I believe this one does as well, but I don't think anyone has received one of these yet other than with system purchases as it JUST became available so I don't know for sure.

my 1800FP came with DVI + VGA cables so this should come with it as well.

AFA the dead pixels.

If you don't like it cuz of the dead pixel RETURN it.
Don't they have a 30 day guarantee ?

I had ONE dead pixel on a 17" dell FP last summer that I called them about, they shipped me a new one and paid shipping fo the old one back.

With a 1600x1200 native resolution you won't even notice the dead pixels 98% of the time. I have a 2000FP and it has a few dead pixels around the outside edges but I absolutely never notice them unless I'm running a dead pixel test. I suppose if there was one right in the middle it might be noticable, but keep in mind how many pixels there are on a 1600x1200 monitor.

Now I gotta think of a way to break this to my wife...

Now that's funny. See, for you married guys, here's a little tip, "it's easier to apologize, rather than directly asking permission". LOL
