Will this thing run applications that were designed to run on the PPC? I have an Amigo with a 206 strongarm and an s***load of apps.

This is a good price for a good PDA. Everytime I'm in a store that carries these I always play with one for a little while, being the PDA junkie that I am. If you're buying it with the intent of making some money on eBay I wouldn't bother though, since chances are by this time tomorrow there will be about 50 new auctions for these little things. But, if you're looking for a cool toy that's way below the (inflated) MSRP, go for it.

No. This runs a version of Linux as its operating system. However, you SHOULD be able to run some Linux apps on this.

U might want 2 check out this page:

1910 review

Looks like the iPaq u mentioned has non-standard headphone jack, has an SD slot that only accepts data storage cards (no wireless, or gps etc), cradle jack is "flipped" from earlier models so sync cradle, keyboards from previous models won't work, and the memory and its config and use are strange and limiting 🙁

Good to know THANK YOU...I definitely want to use the new SanDisk 802.11b SD when it comes out...if the 1910 doesn't have SDIO, there is no sense in buying this, for me any way...I'll get the e750 when it gets below 299 (if ever) I guess

I'm sure I could add this to my wireless network for internet, but would it be difficult to actually talk between the PDA and a Comptuer on the network? Basically I'd like to be able to access files from my PC to the PDA...

Sure, just need this program then just creat a mountpoint...

oh yeah, on the windows side you just would need to enable Microsoft networking for TCP/IP, and share a folder/drive...

Will that work with XP Pro? And it would let me access files on its hard disk?

yeah, it would let you access your winxp's hd... if you wanna get on the PDA I think it has a FTP server running by default on port 4242...
