Well, using Powerstrip works for overclocking. Is there an easier way to check of the values I put in are acceptable. In know with my Radeon, I used ATI Tool to determine the safest acceptable overclock. I keep raising my Frequency by 5-10 and running 3DMark03.

So, if you went back and tried to get the price adjusted for HL2 for 39.99, instead of the 54.99 that it was at the time of this deal, do you think it would void the $105 rebate? The rebate says, "All eligible products must be purchased during the promotion period (as stated above) and must be identified on one recept. All rebate submissions are subject to purchase validation, returned products are not eligible for rebate payment. Product may not be returned for full purchase price once the rebate has been fulfilled. Customers who receive a price match will not be eligible for the rebate. Those who receive a rebate and later receive a price match, will have the value of the rebate deducted from the price match." I guess it depends on the definition of a price match...

price match? isn't it a price adjustment for the HL2? and they never said you had to purchase HL2 at full price in anycase my HL2 receipt shows up as full price 55+270 for the rebate receipt. I think the price matches are for other competitors so that would void it. A price adjustment is different from a price match.

3DMark03 - 10278. Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was able to OC using Powerstrip. 360/770 with all pipes and shaders.

Thanks pxc for the recommendation. Now does anyone know if I can uninstall powerstrip and keep the OC'd settings?

This deal is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am glad I missed the PNY deal at Best Buy. I haven't even installed HL2 yet.

Anyone who unlcoked theirs run Aquamark 3?

I have ran all the 3dmarks and played many games without any problems. I then go to try Aquamark 3 to be greeted by a memory dump caused by either my drivers or the hardware. Is it the card or the drivers? Can someone try it? Thank you

The thing is when I mask the pipes again it works fine ! I don't know if it is the drivers or what! I mean everything else runs PERFECT so I don't wanna touch it !

I ran Aquamark and scored a 54000. I am trying to figure out why I am 10000 pt less than the same system, but it is much better than my Radeon9800XT.

well I bit the bullet and opened it...
this is one loud card..it is much louder than a 9700pro....however using gainward expert tool I turned the fans down to 50% for 2/3D and it is tolerable

My card had the check mard and no A60 sticker

I used rivatuner and my VGA bios said SW mask: none... not 16p 6vp or 12p 5vp etc....so I tried unlocking it and riva tuner reports 16p 6vp on reboot...I o/ced it without a report and tried 380/800 and quickly ran 3DMArk3K with no glitches..so I am not sure if I was really overclocked or not....

This am with no testing..I tried Mustangsvt settings...380/880 and riva tuner test was...400 core was no go..but 385 was ok...memory once 900 was ok but on second try it failed...I was able to do 890 at least via riva tuner test

I set it to run 385/875....with no reboot set it riva tuner..gainward's tool reports the o/c and gpu idle temp was unchanged at 51C,

I will test 3dMArk3k with it tonight...not sure if I am keeping this though...it is alot noiser than I want...and if I have temp issues at 50% fan speed it is going back....

the 16 pipes didnt work for me but the 6 shaders did, would i benefit anything at all from keeping all 6 on instead of 5?

Yes, at least I recall someone said that having the 6th shader going might actually bring a greater benefit than the 4 extra pipes. Whether this person knew what he/she was talking about, I'm not sure =)

I'm travelling in Florida from Canada, made the mistake of reading the forums - I shamelessly admit that I have an addiction to reading the Hot Deal forum, and simply could not pass up a great deal!

The problem is the rebate form fields are specific to the US. So instead of sending in the rebate, proof, etc. and most likely getting it rejected since my mailing address is not in the US, I'm willing give someone the $105 rebate for $95. PM me if you are interested in making an easy $10 by you waiting for the rebate - the rebate form states you should receive the rebate within 8 weeks... and it can be checked through Best Buy's 1-888 number.

Any takers?.. I'm willing to let the rebate go for 90

Are you guys 100% sure that if you return Half Life 2, the rebate is totally invalid? I returned mine tonight, got my $57 and some odd cents back since I already had a copy that arrived at my doorstep 2 days after I made this purchase. How about those people who have exchanged their games on here for another.... wouldn't that be consider invalidating it also since they'd still have to scan Half Life 2 back into their inventory and a new game out of it? Man, I could be so screwed here. Luckily, I haven't opened my card at all yet so I could still get all of my money back, but it was such a good deal and I f'ed up :( Oh well, I guess if I have to wait for another deal to come around, I can wait. I'm not that anxious to play Source yet.

This is a bit late, but thanks for finding the deal. I'm very happy with the card and HL2 is a blast!

I'm 90% sure that it will be void.

If you return it without the receipt:
You might, or might not get screwed over on this one. No one seems to know if they can track the individual UPC or not... Exchanging is the same way...

If you return it with the receipt:
The rebate says that the two items must be purchased on the same receipt. Once they receive your rebate, they will scan the bar code on your receipt and see that you returned Hl2, voiding the rebate. The same applies for those who are exchanging Hl2 with another game.

The only sure way is to cut off the UPC from the Hl2 box and sell it. (cutting off the UPC ensures that they aren't going to go and return it)

Uh yeah, I returned it with the receipt only because my boyfriend who used to work at the Best Buy here says they're really anal about giving store credit to any smuck who returns something without a receipt. Sooooooooooo... yeah I'm screwed if they scan the bar code, I guess. I could only pray that they're all idiots at the rebate center. Oh well, I'm just going to return the whole card, send in the rebate, hope I get free cash and wait for another deal to come. I could use $300 back to buy people Xmas gifts anyways. Bah freaking humbug.

So is the general consensus that using the $20 off $200 coupon will not void the rebate? I mistakenly used that coupon and the 10% was not deducted...I'm over that though. I just want to make sure I will be getting my $105. Also...the rebates had to be sent to some weird address...I think it was in Mexico? I only put one stamp on it...hope that's ok.

dude all UPC are the same for an item, the UPC is used primiarly as a proof of purchase and that you didn't return it. Also you can't get a rebate without actually sending in the UPC, the UPC is used to ensure you bought the product and 2) if you cut the UPC from the game it makes it so that you can't return it. So if you return the game.... you dont get the rebate easy as that since you have to send in the UPC to actually get the rebate. You can get a price adjustment on the game and that's it as far as not voiding the rebate since the rebate receipt will have the full price (because they can't track if you did a price adjustment or not). For those of you who used your 20 off 200 you might become a victim of not getting the rebate since to get the price you have to purchase HL2 and BFG 6800 oc during the promotional perioid. The 20 off 200 says you cannot combine coupon with any Other Offers.

actually, this rebate does not ask for the upc of either product. I was just filling out my rebate and I thought this was odd.. All it wants is:
this rebate form
copy of receipt

I always send in a photo copy of the actual receipt and staple the rebate receipt and rebate form to the photocopy. I usually staple in the upc's too, but this time it does not call for them...

really wow that is weird... I wonder why sorry ( I didn't take a look at the rebate receipt) that's pretty stupid of bestbuy and there is no way in hell that they would find out if you returned it or not.

The UPC number is printed on the rebate form at checkout. If you used the rebate form off the
Best Buy website, then there is a blank for you to write it in.

If the UPC is the same for all of all Hl2 boxes, I see no reason that you shouldn't be able to exchange Hl2 for another game... (after you've lost the receipt that is)

;)

Unless you've returned it with the receipt...
