Here's an interesting thing with the RAM slots; where you place your RAM will dictate the RAM speed. For example, if I place a stick of double sided RAM in DIMM1, I get DDR 400. If I add another stick of RAM in DIMM2 or 3, I still get 400. But if I place those same two sticks of RAM in only DIMM2 and DIMM3, I would end up with DDR 200 speed. If I filled all three slots up with double sided RAM, I would still only have DDR 200 speed. The max speed that can be achieved with all three slots filled is DDR 333. There is a very extensive chart in the manual that explains how to properly fill the DIMM slots.

Make sure you understand what kind of set up your dealing with befor you run off and buy ram sticks,think about what kinda setup you are looking for.

Yeah that is one downside of this board. You're limited to two sticks @DDR400.

Drop shipped means that the place that you're actually buying from doesn't have them in stock. It doesn't carry stock, but it takes the info it gets from you and tells a warehouse to ship it to you instead of to them and then from them to you.

For small businesses it can save a lot of money, since you don't have to carry any physical stock, and don't have to mess with shipping.

From the order numbers here and on FW, it looks like around 20,000 orders were placed. I hope TD/AMD catches and deletes all the orders in excess of one per person and the ones where people didn't even take the quiz.

I think a lot of people are going to wind up disappointed over this. That's a very significant number of orders.

Agree, TD sells other stuff as well, the order numbers would reflect all items sold, not just the AMD deal.

I got the quiz done pretty early on... when I first say the original post, there were no responses.

From what people have said about this board it is a little fussy with memory, so I guess it's time to do a little research and find some decent memory...


I'm pretty damned psyched, this is a helluva deal and I doubted I'd get it when I started seeing how huge this thread and the FW one were getting.

Very True. Either way though the later the order seemes to show that they are not as likely to of shipped. It took 2 days for mine to get past the drop shipper status. IE (the night of the 7th to morning of the 9th) Keep your hopes up guys.

I just called up to get my tracking number Mine should by Tuesday though the Rep seemed to think Monday was not impossible. Problem is I work all day monday so sad Though that wouldn't stop me once I finally got home hehe.

It could have been for there credit card info,If the billing address and the shipping address are not the same then they were to have you call to verify info befor allowing your order to be relesed.If the billing name was diffrent from the shipping name the case was the same,they emailed you to call the Credit Card Department 1-888-999-8800 or called you to verify the info.Like social#'s ect. you get the point.
This person most likely did some thing wrong and TD waited then cancled.
That number is high up and there are numbers befor and after showing drop shipped.This means nothing to any order that does say DROP SHIPPED,I bet if you were to ask this person I bet there order never said DROP SHIPPED @ any piont in time!

Yeah, my order shipped today It's supposed to get to me by Friday.

When I ordered, after the the confirmed my card, the website said my order was On Hold and I had to call them. I was kinda worried they found me out but I called anyway. It was just some identity verification stuff and once I answered their questions my order was on it's way.

Some of the questions were pretty scary They do stuff like say a couple of addresses and you have to confirm which ones you've lived at. They also give out names of a bunch of people and you have to name which ones you're related to. They named off my mom, dad, and one of my sisters. Kinda freaked me out that there is that much information about me in some public database somewhere...

You may not have to that verification thing, but in case you do there's a heads up
