I'm just saying that they clearly state that this promotion goes through the 22nd of July, and if they fail to honor that timeline and their previous statement, then that reflects poorly on them. Not to mention, lack of any kind of response at all to my email. There's a big difference between that and complaining about not getting in on a "while supplies last" sale or PM deal.

Well I tried to reregister since it want let me long in, but when I enter my companies info (real company) it says "One or more entries were incorrect. Please re-enter information in the indicated fields below." But, nothing is marked. I think there server is just dieing and cannot do anything right even if it does display the page.

I hear you. But it does say "first come first serve, supplies are limited" once you actually pass the quiz. So if they got slammed and they know they already have way more applications than they had alotted supplies, does it matter if they stop taking orders? Would you really feel better if you were able to place the order even if you had no shot of actually getting it? I got through but I have no idea if I'll actually receive the package.

I think you need to exit your browser and retry. Something with session cookies probably.

And Solema: I think it does say while supplies last on the order page.... But I know what you mean. I will never do business with Citrix again if I can help it. Their tech support is worthless. Everytime I call I cna't believe we're paying for a support contract and get that kinda crappy service.

UNRELATED
Anyone know if when I run a DD command to wipe a drive if I should see something after I hit enter?
I did "dd if=/dev/random of=/dev/sda" and it's just sitting there. The HD is a little noisy, so I don't know if it's actually doing anything. The HD light on the case is not flashing, but since this is a scsi drive, I don't know if it will.... Any insight?

Read the entire disclaimer, it does say "or while supplies last".

You have no argument with them, they are not selling this retail, and you would not stand a snowballs chance in hell of a fight with them. If you try to push the issue I would tread lightly. Your chances of sucsess will be better.

Well, I'm sure most of the people here have $$ to purchase both products. I believe the correct phrase would be AMD appeals to the more "tech knowledgeable" crowd. We are the people that know that a 3.2 ghz Celeron gets whipped by a AMD64 2800+ processor, unlike the average person who uses the computer to surf the wed and get email. AMD makes the best processors for the best price, hands down.

Comparing a Celeron to any AMD64 proc isnt very tech knowledgeable. The Athlon 64 2800+ costs about the same as a P4 2.8Ghz, and they perform about the same, depending on what you're doing. They somewhat jacked up the prices on the Athlon 64 and Opteron, and I'm not sure there is that great of a price/performance deficit between Intel and AMD. On the low end I'd say yes, but not midrange or higher.

But, this deal is exceptional.

I can't even get into my profile. As of 12:25AM has anyone gotten in to the deal?

I got mine coming...ordered today.

Athlon 64 is directly compatible with 64 bit (linux) and Windows XP 64.

then the deal must be dead. when I go to my profile, there is no "my training" anywhere. just "personal information" and "contact information" with a submit and cancel button.

Yes, deal is dead. It has been confirmed AMD got rid of the link. Good luck to all who did get to order one.
I hope I get mine.

aer you sure there's no link like training or anything similar to that? Login and in the front page there should be a link titled "Market Builder Experience" or something of that sort. Thats what i saw when i logged in. But i am speaking of my experience around 8pm yesterday so it may have changed.

As I implied before, I have no plans to "push" the issue other than inquiring on the phone if the promotion is even still going and maybe asking to talk to a supervisor or whatever. It's hardly pushing it. As for the "while supplies last" what irks me is that I'd at least like the same opportunity as anyone else to at least try and participate, whether or not they have any more "supplies" left. I can't even get the terms and conditions page to post my acceptance let alone get an account or take the test.

My point is that their incapable web servers are the direct cause of why I was not able to even attempt to get in on this deal, and has nothing to do with "limited supplies."

When my friend lucks out and actually gets the page to load and places his order after I had tried unsuccesfully to get their server to create an account for me for the previous 8 hours, and continue to have difficulty, I think it's worth a little complaining on the phone to them.

I understand your frustration. Problem is when this was opened to the general public this is what happens. Keep your eyes peeled for future promotions though. If AMD is smart they will bring on more. Maybe next time around it will be for a better setup.

I have called first thing this morning to mention very politely that I do not fell it is fair to those of us who tried to enter all day yesterday and could not due to their servers to deny us. I registered but could not take the test I always got a blank page 7, He said the servers where hammerred and just keep trying. Burt when I said I could not as the link was gone for "My Training", he responded he just got in and did not know why. He took my phone number and name and said he would find out and call me back. I am waiting to see what happens.

Or until they run out of products. Which I think went by pretty fast with FW and Anandtech pounding them the last few days. It said limited supply's and first come first serve right on it. So I wouldn't expect much.
