Daylight Savings Time

That's going to be a big deal and a lot of money is going to go into making that change happen.
All you IT consultants better clear your schedule. You are going to be buying a boat soon.

Gahhh... stick with spring forward... stupid medical software cannot handle fall back..

Must be nice to get a solid 8 then complain about a 1 hour shift, oh my god. Try sleeping maybe 5 hours a night for your whole life except teenage years.

I remember back during the Bush years congress was desperate to pass something that did nothing but made it look like they did something. So they passed a law changing daylight saving times dates and then sang about how it was going save power or some BS. Literally the worst thing you could do, creating tons of wasted effort to gain nothing and introduce more ways time changes could screw up on computers. Literally worse than doing nothing at all. Hopefully it doesn't get perverted down to another one of those.

I always thought that the move to expand the duration of DST was to slowly phase it in so people would not be so up-in-arms about the change when it became permanent. Honestly, I was expecting it to change to March1 to Dec1 before going all year a decade later.

I can't think of any reason not to do this, but if Democrats get behind it, I'm sure Hannity will feed us some reasons.
My very liberal friend sent me a research paper about how the split between solar and social time caused all kinds of issues in massive amounts. I was reading it and was "how did this crap name it through peer review" then I realized it was a free to read journal which almost always equals trash.

I think he is against because he always works out in morning, so more dark workouts.

That was the best thing Bush ever did.

If you need to convince the psychos its good to get rid of, just remind them it was invented by Kaiser Wilhelm during the war to save on fuel.

They hate both of those things.

That is what I said

Daylight Savings Time

I still have a few gadgets that are hard coded to the old schedule and change accordingly, a few weeks out of date. No way to update them and not worth tossing them out.

We are waiting after NY and Quebec here in Ontario and if they go with it we will too. I really hope it happens. I think Quebec already wants to do it as well, so it's basically on NY.

Personally I say screw NY, we should do it anyway. If people can't figure out an hour difference then they should work a job that does not involve time zones.

This time change stuff is ridiculous and has a bad effect on mental health, and does not serve any useful purpose. It's like cutting a foot off a 2x4 and gluing it on the other end to make it longer.

I don't care what time we go with, if it's summer time or winter time. Just pick one, stick with it. In winter it's pitch black before work and pitch black after work, no amount of moving the clock is going to change that.

Ok.... Ok....
Solution....
We need two suns. One Sun offset an hour from the other Sun. Or if science can't handle that, simply change the rotation of the earth. Slow it down a little. After all, either of the two ideas would be a lot easier than messing with the wall clock twice a year. And why should we be forced to mess with setting and resetting our clocks twice a year? How barbaric is THAT? That is like needing to disassemble your entire cell phone just to turn it on and off. Switches were made to easily turn things on and off, and we definitely need two Suns up there in the sky. I'd suggest an LED Sun. Lasts longer.
