Here's some bi-partisan action I think most of us will agree with. I personally hate the adjustment period twice yearly when this crap comes up:

Can't wait to hear from the QAnon, anti-vaxxers, MAGA hatters, and the other lunatic fringe as to why this is some new world order or democratic plot to further subvert our freedoms.
That's going to be a big deal and a lot of money is going to go into making that change happen.
All you IT consultants better clear your schedule. You are going to be buying a boat soon.

I always thought that the move to expand the duration of DST was to slowly phase it in so people would not be so up-in-arms about the change when it became permanent. Honestly, I was expecting it to change to March1 to Dec1 before going all year a decade later.I remember back during the Bush years congress was desperate to pass something that did nothing but made it look like they did something. So they passed a law changing daylight saving times dates and then sang about how it was going save power or some BS. Literally the worst thing you could do, creating tons of wasted effort to gain nothing and introduce more ways time changes could screw up on computers. Literally worse than doing nothing at all. Hopefully it doesn't get perverted down to another one of those.
Must be nice to get a solid 8 then complain about a 1 hour shift, oh my god. Try sleeping maybe 5 hours a night for your whole life except teenage years.
My very liberal friend sent me a research paper about how the split between solar and social time caused all kinds of issues in massive amounts. I was reading it and was "how did this crap name it through peer review" then I realized it was a free to read journal which almost always equals trash.I can't think of any reason not to do this, but if Democrats get behind it, I'm sure Hannity will feed us some reasons.
That was the best thing Bush ever did.I remember back during the Bush years congress was desperate to pass something that did nothing but made it look like they did something.
