Dawn of War II - Retribution

It's a bit more hero focused than Dark Omen, but with retribution you're able to buy other unit types too. I was really into Dark Omen, and always wondered why they didn't continued the series.
You don't collect money but you collect wargear and XP which you can use to diversify your heroes/squads to your liking between missions.

There's a Dawn of War 2, Chaos Rising and Retribution complete pack out which isn't much more expensive than Retribution on it's own.

Recommend checking it out.

Yes check this game out, it's really cool.

Like Elcs said, Retribution is a standalone expansion so you don't need the other DoW2 games to play it. Nonetheless, I really recommend you to play DoW2 and Chaos Rising it's expansion, extremely fun games!

How is the single player portion of retribution ? (also how long is it ?)

From what I can gather, approximately 7 hours per race. However, as mentioned in my review, the race campaigns are very samey.

The price we paid for having 6 campaigns was simply having 1 shorter campaign repeated 6 times.

But the campaigns, even though they're only 7 hours long, they're really fast paced and full of action. Really fun to play.

And those links Elcs thrown...damn good prices!

Not sure how many if any of you are into the books, but they are giving away 5 free ebooks.

All the info is here, I made a post in the free forum http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2111325

I recommend this first book and the rest of the series quite a bit, Gaunt's Ghost is a great series of books.

Fantastic spot.

I personally own over 25 books from the Black Library (more if you split my omnibus editions into single books) and they are a deeply rewarding read.

It's not all about worship, for The Emperor and Space Marines winning with plot armour 100% of the time... there are some books written from other perspectives.

Explore the deep, dark realms of the Inquisiton through Eisenhorn and Ravenor. Feel what it is like to walk among Gods in Titanicus or if Choas is your posion, step into the maelstrom that is Storm of Iron.

<--- Warhammer 40,000 fluff and story fan.

I have the same addiction here but I've recently been picking up the HH audio dramas/books/short stories. Good stuff for long road trips if you play them back to back.

Edit: Storm of Iron was truly a roller coaster ride of action packed Chaos (pun intended 😛 ). I'd also recommend the Night Lords series of books.
