Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition for PC!

Very interesting. I've seen some videos but I restrained myself not to be too spoiled about it potentially. I've read some parts of reviews here and there, it seems to be a very good game and very challenging. But the only current-gen console I own is a Wii, and I only got it to buy Skyward Sword. So if they release it for the PC I'll most likely pick it up. Also I could really use a good RPG style fix, haven't played a satisfying one for a while.

I hope it comes to Steam. I beat it on the PS3 already but am willing to buy it again to support the devs and show that the petition was serious to bring it to the PC.

I've beat it on the PS3 too, and am also willing to buy it again. If only because the PC version HAS to perform better than the PS3 version. Blighttown on the PS3 was a slideshow.

Oh god. I already broke a controller, please don't make me smash my $120 keyboard.

So this game is going to make me froth at the mouth and swear into my monitor like a raving lunatic?

Awesome! :awe:

The last game that made me do that was the newly released unpatched Witcher 2 on my first playthrough. I think I died about 15 times in the prologue alone 😀

Nice! I've heard so much about this game (and the other pre/sequel) and have really wanted to try them (without actually buying a PS3 just for that purpose).

I've been playing Dark Souls lately, and while I do enjoy it, it lacks the depth, story, and ambiance that I am accustomed to in PC games. For a console game it's great, but I don't know that I'd enjoy it on the PC. If we can have first person perspective that may improve on it, but otherwise I feel it's just gonna be a weak PC port.

I own both games on PS3, however I haven't played Dark Souls yet as I was waiting to finish Demons Souls first. Now I'll just hold off entirely until the PC version, looking forward to it!

From what I've played, it feels more old school in that the story and characters lack some depth. It's definitely a game that focuses on gameplay over everything else. I personally find the challenge and extreme satisfaction one gets in overcoming these challenges to be enough of a drive to make it so great.

the game embodies ambiance, the mood is so deep and immersive... I have no idea how you could say otherwise.

This is the best news ive heard since the release date for Diablo III came out. But i sincerely hope this is not gonna be a bad port. The thing that made Dark Souls great was the uber-tight controls and the challenging gameplay. A bad control scheme would ruin it entirely. Fingers crossed.

Sorry, what PC game has had good story lately?...

I mean everything that's on pc is also on the consoles. Skyrim, witcher, etc.

The Witcher series has the best storyline of any other recent game I've played, and it's PC exclusive (although the sequel will be coming to Xbox next week).

I don't see Dark Souls on a keyboard being particularly enjoyable, I'd pick it up a few months down the road on sale though.

For those wondering, I'd say the chance of it coming with gamepad controls are....say..... 1/1 (that's 100%), just in case you were worried about keyboard controls 😀
