There is a quick save utility on nexus mods I'm going to try. They also have a gui for dsfix which I'll also take a look at. If that doesn't work I can use dsfix to enable backup saves every 10 min or so.

So, put in a lot of time this weekend. Definitely getting my money's worth! I finally found a build I like (hexes are super OP... I can 4 shot Guardian Dragon before he gets off the ground and the fight really starts). Can't wait to try out some NG+. Did some grinding in the SunBros as well. Got enough coins to get to rank 2, I just haven't put in the time to do it yet.

I made the mistake of leveling to SL150 before finishing the SunBro covenant. I don't know where to co-op now...

NG+ is where most of the online stuff happens.

Lol, I got summoned by 3 ratbros last night and murdered all of them almost instantly. 2 shot them all in the hall way. Maybe, they should set a trap and wait for me to come, rather than rushing headfirst! I might join the them and get my troll on. You don't lose rank in the Sunbros if you leave, or so I'm told.

Got the game on friday and put in a lot of time this weekend. I'm now at a crossroads of what to do with my character.

I'm about SL 70 right now, Cleric wearing the Drangleic set minus the helmet. I'm using the Heide Knight Sword +5/Drangleic Shield with lightning bolts and that force push miracle and heal and I feel like I'm pretty much cakewalking it. It's really fun.

Now my original plan was to get to about where I'm at right now, and then respec a bit into hexes. Now I'm not so sure what I want to do. I can either just increase my muscle/dex to wield the drangleic sword and and become a full blown drangleic cleric or completely respec my guy towards hexes and use the roaring halberd and probably that dark cloak as armor and basically abandon miracles in favor of a wand and hexes.

I have a Hexer that is just beastly. 40 int, 40 faith wearing the incredibly ugly Lion's Mage set (for increased cast speed). I am going to hit 40 attunement eventually and possibly 40 vit. I increased my ADP enough to hit 98 agil, but since that also scales with ATT, I might drop it. I also currently have 12 strength to hold a shield I bought from McDuff, but I hear there is a better one with a lower STR requirement, so I might look into that.

I use literally only hexes. I use the Dark + 10 Caitha's Chime (which only can cast hexes and just has a ton of dark damage, S dark scaling, and 145 cast speed) and the dark + 10 staff Felkin gives you if you have 20 int / 20 faith.

That sounds crazy. What SL are you? Have people settled on a standard SL yet? I think it was around 120-130 in Dark Souls.

150 is the standard PVP level it looks like, and that is in NG+. I believe I am only around 135 or so. My Great Soul Resonance or whatever hex hits like a truck. The only problem is it requires souls to do any damage. So, if you die at a boss and then die on your way back to him, it makes it pretty hard to do.

The Guardian Dragon is where I like to gauge my damage. I can cast 4 spells before he gets up, and he dies from that.

I haven't settled on what armor I like yet, as I can't really notice a difference between having pieces of the Lion's Mage set missing. I am currently wearing the Hex hood, Dark Armor, and the rest Lion's Mage. It is decent looking.

I ended up getting the claymore and just upgrading that for now. I did not like the movement set on that roaring halberd.

Man this game is awesome. It is EXACTLY what I was hoping it would be. Man I want a game like this on the PS4. If they can do a quality port to the PS4 that actually utilizes the PS4 features and graphics and add in a bunch of new content I'll rebuy it for sure. A bummer that last I heard those Demons Souls 2 rumors on the PS4 are bunk.

I don't think FROM wants to do a Demon's Souls 2 anyway. Sony owns the IP, not FROM, so they can't do whatever they want with it and it wouldn't be multiplatform. While the Souls series has sold better on the PS3, it still sold very well on the Xbox.

Last I checked, PS3 sold 3-4x as much as the 360 version. So while they would be losing a decent chunk of potential revenue, I could see Sony enticing them to make a Demon's Souls 2.

With all the cash flowing in, From probably has enough money to hire staff and work on two Souls simultaneously.

Dark Souls sold about double on the PS3 than the Xbox (and that was almost entirely due to Japanese sales). The same looks to be true so far on Dark Souls 2. If you removed Japan's sales, they sell equally well, but since Japan avoids the Xbox, it sells pretty poorly in Japan.

They would be losing a ton of revenue making a PS4 exclusive. Dark Souls sold a total of 2.59 million world wide on multiple platforms (not including PC sales). That is against an install base of like 150+ million consoles. PS4 has like 3% of that install base. Plus, Demon's Souls sold a bit more than half of their total multiplatform sales (against a must larger install base than the PS4, mind you).

They would be losing 'potential' revenue, but that doesn't mean the game couldn't turn a healthy profit. Let's say the Playstation gets about 1/2 of the total sales. I think they could make DeS2 and still have it profit with the reduced sales. Hell, DeS1 was crazily successful for them and pulled in a ton of money. It would probably have to be scaled back a bit from Dark Souls 2, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be awesome still.

I bet a PS4 exclusive DeS2 would convince a lot of people to get PS4s (it would convince me at least). If a deal was made with Sony to cover some of the development costs, I don't see how it couldn't be profitable. With the influx of cash they've been getting, they could probably have a Souls team large enough to work on both Dark Souls and Demons Souls simultaneously. I'm sure Sony would lend some engineering power as they did in DeS.

Basically, I would really like a DeS2 and am thinking of excuses to make it happen.

I made the mistake of leveling to SL150 before finishing the SunBro covenant. I don't know where to co-op now...

There should be plenty of co-op going on at SL150. I'm in the 120's and having no problems.

A note on sunbro cov though, you get a medal both for being summoned to help another player, but you will also get a medal if you summon a sunbro to help you (as long as neither you nor he dies). So if you are not having any luck with laying down your sign and getting summoned, just run through the game and be sure to summon a sunbro at each opportunity.

Though tbh if you aren't getting any summons when laying down your sign, you are probably just laying it down in the wrong place (either you are too high level for that boss or its just an easy boss and few people are bothering to summon help for it). I find that when I lay down my sign at a difficult boss I usually never have to wait more than 30 seconds or so to get summoned.

I bought a PS3 for Demons Souls. Well not just that, but I had basically been on the fence about getting one for years, and Demons Souls is what finally pushed me over the edge to 'must buy one immediately'. If DS2 had been release on PS4 but not PS3 (and if I hadn't already bought a PS4), I am positive it would have been a deciding factor for me again. Souls is literally one of the best game series ever created IMO.

Basically, I would really like a DeS2 and am thinking of excuses to make it happen.

I don't care what they call it, I just hope FROM keeps making them.

I just realized the latest patch changes the Desert Sorceress Top to look slightly less slutty.

I wonder why they did that.

They are similar, but they have quite different atmospheres, aesthetics, and a few different mechanics.

There are those who prefer DeS to DaS1/2, so that shows there is at least some difference, however subtle it may be.

From what I can remember, the differences are there, but very subtle like you said. I don't think its a good idea to release two different games rather than just focus their resouces on one game and make it great.

holy crap, farming souls is not an option anymore. Even though that makes the game so much harder, I still like this concept... I am so screwed.

Eh, farming souls offline is not an option, but a simple summon sign is a ton of souls. And, you can use an item to make all the mobs, and boss, reappear.

1.0.3 comes out on the PS3 on the 9th. Not sure about Xbox 360, but I'm sure it is around that time as well.

Towards the end of the game you can farm souls via PvE.

PvP or co-op is also a good way to get some souls.

I played about 20 hours offline last weekend and loved the game. Still as hard as Dark Souls but way less frustrating. Finished 6 of the major bosses, 25 to go lol.

I don't have a tv right now so can't play at my house online. I wanna get online though, I'm definitely missing out on a lot offline it seems. I can also see making 2-3 characters to play completely different styles.
