Just thought I would share the email I just sent these clows. Thereds can probably appreciate it the most.

I have been a Cox Internet customer for 5 months now and I must say that I am becoming increasing irritated, no angry at the constant outages I am experiencing. At least once a week I cannot connect to anything for several hours and sometimes days due to ongoing DNS problems you keep having. Then of course there are the random outages you can never explain to me. I know for a fact that I'm not the only person having these problems since I have spoken with others who use your service and have the same issues. I'm not sure why you keep having these DNS problems but since I'm a network administrator myself I would just like to say that it is unacceptable. If the company I support were to keep having these problems I would have been fired long ago. If your staff cannot handle the problems perhaps you can contact one of our sales reps at (number deleted) and they can arrange for some professionals to come solve your problems.

Actually a few weeks back I did. Had an outage, I dinked around with some stuff and then called them. Guy said they didn't know what the problem was so I told him it seemed to be something with DNS, he put me on hold, then came back and said "ok, how do we fix it?" I had them check a few things and badda bing, badda boom it was back up in about 15 minutes. My point is that they hire a bunch of clowns. Of course they probably pay them squat.

They are the only broadband provider in town except for SouthWestern Bell DSL which is crap in my area. I should stop complaining because their service sucks and goes down all the time. Not sure I like your way of thinking but would you like to buy a used car I have for sale? It's a bit rusty, runs like hell, uses oil, and sucks gas but since you won't complain I'm sure we can make a deal.

Since then, they've overloaded all the nodes and totally oversold their bandwidth. Their commercials used to say "50 times as fast as 56k dialup." It was damn near that. Now, their commercials say "Up to 30 times faster than 56k dialup!" Its a load of crap. The service is maybe half as good as it used to be, yet the price has gone up $5. The fact of the matter is, complaining or not, they have lowered the quality of their product. They do not maintain it as it was maintained originally. They need to grow some balls, refund us some damn money (im currently on 4 months free cuz I threw a huge fit), and fix their shyt. I dont care if they are working on it. if they are "working" on it, they need to stop selling their services until they get it fixed.

I too have cox and it has gotten worse.... especially since the @home was turned off. And verizon DSL isnt much better, those are the only 2 options avaliable to me.

Sorry. I'm sorry folks, I'm just a little tired of hearing customers complain about things that they know they can't fix. Hell, I'm a tier2 agent, and I can't do jack about stuff like that. Nobody listens to anyone else in this industry, and everybody knows it.

What are you talking about? My verizon DSL is great. I never have any outages and the speed is decent. 1500kbps/384kbps for $40 month.
