oh, that was a joke. can you check the batteries in your sarcasm detector for me? 😉

Move to phoenix, the service from cox here is pretty good now. It was sucky for 2 months or so. But now is all wwell again. 😛

Anycase sucks that they have soo many issues, But if you get enough people to bitch with you, you can get some $$ back on your service.

Adul, I live in Phx bro and my cox cable blows ass. Sometimes it drops down to a crawl. Once in a great while its blazing. It goes down a few times daily, whether it be for 2 minutes, all the way up to a whole night. Its never just ON. GODDAMIT I HATE COX.

<< And verizon DSL isnt much better, those are the only 2 options avaliable to me. >>

What are you talking about? My verizon DSL is great. I never have any outages and the speed is decent. 1500kbps/384kbps for $40 month.
>>

Well that package for me would run $60 per month... which is way to high for internet access, at least while cable is $40.

<< I apologize, shinerburke >>

No need to apologize.

My main problem witch Cox is that they seem to hire morons to do their service. Since I was in a new house they sent a contractor team out here to do my install. Who ended up running the cable from the box, through my attic, and down the walls? Me. Who connected and installed everything? Me. The guys were just clueless and I still wonder how they got a contract to do service in this area. The few times I've actually dealt with Cox line techs they have been great, the sad part is that doesn't hold true for their phone support personel. I shouldn't have to call in to find out what kind of problem they are having and when they expect it to be fixed and end up being the person that diagnoses it for them and tells them how to fix it.

<< I used to have their service and I won't say here exactly what I called them >>

Before I switched to online billing I used to make out all my checks for my cable bill to Cocks Cable.

I cancelled Cox service - I refused to be a sucker any longer.

And now I am moving back to San Diego . . . what other "choices" do I have?

i have cox too and it drops out on me every once in a while, of course when i need to do some work online or something. and lately when i play cs i cant get any pings below 150! it pisses me off so much and the whole time i play its spikey.

I have been running cox's cable for quite a while, 3-4 years, and I agree with the fact that it has gone downhill, a lot. For a long time we had many problems with our connection to them, and they even came out and said that they had oversold their service. It was something like we have too many accounts running, so after so long a period of time, around 30minutes, when someone logged on, it would kick somebody else off. With enough phone calls and emails sent to them, some pretty nasty, but in a proffesional way, we mysteriously started having a good connection one day, when others in my town still have the same problem. For a while I would have to reboot my computer about every 30 to 45 minutes just to reconnect to cox, I tried just renewing my connectilon and whatnot, but the only thing that worked was to reboot. Though that problem was fixed, it is still not near as fast as it used to be.
