I'm from Bismarck, this isn't going to end well for the protestors, people are getting pretty fed up with the BS. They're pissed at the cost for all the law enforcement.

A water cannon wouldn't do that, I watched the video, there are protestors taking it full force to their head, no way it caused that king of damage to destroy an arm, if they did, we'd have a shitload of one armed firefighters, there were no concussion grenades video'd, all of the protestors have cell phones and cameras and video no way they would have not caught concussion grenades on video and been raging about it.

The idiot losing her arm is going to motivate law enforcement to end this shit. They pulled shrapnel from her arm, so law enforcement will be able to tell the cause soon.

Somehow lefties have convinced themselves that just calling something "protest" means all laws and rules cease to apply. If you are trespassing on someone else's property or shutting down traffic impeding someone else's movement, destroying property or otherwise breaking laws, you should expect there to be repercussions.

It has nothing to do with police state but a corporate state, corporations have been emboldened around the country by being able to run roughshod over little people using laws like "eminent domain" by claiming they are doing it for the general welfare of the community backed by their bought and paid off politicians, this is just the latest example.

I just don't get the whole protest line thing. Either people protest lawfully, then their should be NO police there. Or people protest unlawfully, then there should police and eventually NO protestors.

What's with the freaking "Battles" between protestors and cops? If they are getting out of hand and breaking the law, arrest them. If they aren't, leave!

Because you can make almost anything illegal if you define it right. This protest started peacefully and then they attacked the protesters with dogs, when the protesters protected themselves they claimed the protesters are no longer being peaceful.

At what point do we just give up on freedom of speech if we just keep creating laws to prevent it?

There is no evidence of that either. You don't expect the police to just admit that they are using lethal force against peaceful protesters do you? As of right now we have two different stories, it will take time to find the truth.

Historically we have allowed a lot of leeway for protesters because we believe in the freedom of speech, especially highly political speech like protests. It is all to easy to suppress speech using laws intended to do other things.
