Cindy Jacobs of the Generals International ministry caught a lot of heat earlier this year when she blamed mass bird deaths on the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."

But she stands by her statement, now saying repeal caused the tsunami and earthquakes in Japan as well.

"Everything that I said has happened," Jacobs said. "We have seen these disasters happen. We need to pray, we need to repent for turning away from God and saying that we can make any laws that we want, it doesn't matter... that God's laws don't count."

Fantastically idiotic. She and her ilk are the kinds of people that those of you who are religious should be shunning. They're the ones that give you a bad reputation.
 
If her Lord is a wrathful Lord, then he is no Lord of mine. My Lord knows love and peace or he is no Lord at all.

The fantasy land inside a man-made book, as impressed upon her by some abusive backwater hatemongers who wouldn't know faith and religion if it walked up and trampled them.

That she imagines the world's disasters and events run by her own hatred is quite a delicious display of depravity. The real question is, who is the master behind the puppet? It is he who needs to answer for her stupidity.

Until you mentioned her, I'd never heard of her. She and her ilk are the kinds of people that you shouldn't bother bringing up. It's not news that there are crazy people in this world willing to say stupid things.

An international ministry, which didn't get to be international.. much less survive since its founding 25 years ago.. without the devotion and money of many people; yes, when they say stupid things they should be called out on it.

Not sure I agree. God is Love, but the type of love that a father exercises. Namely, he gets seriously pissed if you're not living up to your destiny, or at least trying to do that. He's not like a grandfather, who wishes only that everyone has a good time.

There's a reason we are expected to fear God. He is the supreme overlord of freaking everything after all.

Now: Anyone who says that God should smite homosexuals deserves to be smacked. I seriously doubt God would smite homosexuals instead of child-rapists. When child-rape is legalized, then I might start calling earthquakes, tsunamis and general mayhem divine punishment.

International doesn't mean big or influential. I still prefer to ignore the crazies. If you're going to call out one crazy, you should call out all of them, and if you're going to do that, you'll never get done.
