The BETA release of Steam 2.0, which allows access to Counter-Strike 1.6 BETA, has been suspended. Due to some members of the gaming press leaking copies of Steam, the 500 megabit content servers have been filled to their capacity. To be fair, if Steam couldn't handle an unofficial release it probably wouldn't have done well with an official release either.

well, i created an accoun earlier.. had to restart the program 1/2 dozen times cuz a few times it crashed while trying to connect. and now when i try to login again, it says my account doesnt exist or my password is wrong..

im giving up until someone actually gets it to run..

NO CS 1.6 TODAY!

Well, that stinks, really. Valve is claiming their 500Megabit network is flooded (by the ones who leaked it) by Steam. If Steam cannot handle a leak of this magnitude, imagine all the legit people who got it. I downloaded both the leak and the one released off steampowered.com. Hopefully, they will allow logins and new account creations tonight.

If not, maybe my original Steam login will work.
