anyways, sorry godsmack...thanks for keeping my seat warm, but i've come to regain the throne ;)

my new score of 59533

and is it prime stable? why yes it is

dual prime torture test, not benchmark shot hehe :D

oh madmax, i've gotten a mod to fix it so my screen name is no longer a censored word, so you can put my name instead of XXXXXX hahaha

thanks for your efforts on updating this popular thread!

edit: dont forget to press refresh if the link doesnt work!

First: Very nice work with your chip,so far the best I've seen, my congrats!!
Did you run the Prime95 Blend test or the FFT test?? If not please do run the Blend test so and post your experiences...
Hope to hear from you soon,

thanks for the compliments madmax, i run a custom test with the exact same parameters as the blend test except for one thing, which is the size in MB. i limit each instance of my prime to 450 MB totalling about a gig but not quite a gig to avoid the page file bug of prime.

to run a custom with the same parameters as the blend, all you have to do is select blend first and you'll see that even though custom is not actually selected yet, the parameters are reflected in the custom parameters section. then all you have to do is select custom, then change the size in MB. keep up the good work max.

Got my A64 X2 4200+ today. Not hooked up to the network yet, so no screeen shot for now, 44170, stock speed(2.2ghz) 1024mb of Ram(2x512mb PQI turbo) 3-3-3-8. Can't believe how cool this thing runs, 35c idle, 44c max with 2 instances of prime95 small FTT running, stock heatsink and thermal pad. I'm impressed, this is my first AMD chip since the K6-2.

if and when u overclock, you'll be quick to see that these things run far hotter than the other a64's at the same voltage

but, u said its ur first amd since the k6, lol, so you're gona be comparing it to intels, which does make this thing seem cool ;)

Don't worry AMD starts ramping up like crazy after about 2.6... Just like pressy's do around 3.3. Sure at 2.2 they barley use any power ~60W!!! But at 2.6 ~130W!!!!

Here is my finalized tweaked 2596mhz (11x236) setup....

The A64tweaker looks hosed on ram timings but I am using the 250 divider of the MSI Neo2 bios...calculated ram timngs are...

11/(250/200)=8.8...rounded up to 9 then divide into 2596 = 288.44 or 576ddr

My ram is running 2.85v but is rated as 2.5-3-3-7 for 550ddr. I am running cas 3-4-4-10 at this test...

dont be silly ;)

at 2806, the high/load temp is 38c

the readings on my mbm "jumps" sporadically...it'll read 38c, then jump to some weird degree, then go back to normal on the next refresh

it does this for every reading, even voltages

yes i can bench at 2925, every bench, but not prime stable...i just get bsods after a certain voltage

Great chip! What are the stepping codes on that thing? Where did you buy?

My 4200 seems to be peaked at 2550...

stepping is 0524 rpmw

your peak is most likely heat limited cuz these fawkers get crazy hot

I wouldn't believe that reading of 38c load for a second. There is no way, unless your in Siberia with all the windows and the case open :) Somewhere in the 50's would be about right with highend air or water at those speeds.

with the exact same setup, and a slk948u i get near 60c with only about 1.5ish volts (then bsod)

the temp maybe not be 100 percent accurate since its mobo readings but its not toooo far off

i have a bix3 with 3 120mm fans and the cpu is the only thing in the loop

tdx block, mcp655

air coming out of the radiator is not even slightly warm

from what i read at xtremesystems, my wc setup is way overkill for just one cpu

its not 50s, trust me. i've felt the slk948 when it got in the 50s. nothing gets near that hot with the current setup.

edit: ambient is about 25-27c maybe 23-24c at night
