Crysis single player demo

I've read that 169.01's drivers are causing some issues, not just fixing them (from Guru3D forums).

I myself have tried them (not with Crysis Demo though), and I lack tons of resolutions, along the fact that my OpenGL/Glide wrapper doesn't initialize at all with those drivers (for older games like Diablo II and Baldur's Gate II, for example). So I reverted back to the 163.76's, and everything came back to order. I guess those drivers aren't good for everything and everyone.

I used the link provided by mzkhadir a few posts above (thanks mate !).

I'm downloading the fastest my line is capable (740KB/s), very nice, I don't have to wait 70 minutes at FilesHack and I am not limited at 500KB/s. I can't wait to see how's that game in single-player (which is, for me, the main selling point, since I could care less about its multi-player element, even though it ain't bad at all). I'm at 88% completed as I write this line.

E6420, 2GB RAM, X1950XT 256MB - all stock:

Averages 25-30 FPS with all settings on medium, 1280x1024, no AA. I would normally say that's borderline unplayable but it's unexplainably and deceivingly smooth in Crysis. At these settings, parts of the world aren't much better than Far Cry, but taken as a whole the entire scene is definitely more pleasing to the eye. For my modest PC, I'm happy with the performance and playability.

Try not to go into the game with unrealistic expectations. Crysis isn't made of magic - as GLaDOS would say ... polygon goes in, polygon comes out. Anyone that believed the claims of 50 FPS @ 2560x1600 is just setting themselves up for a disappointing night.

The trees can be destroyed in DX9 ........... I have been punching them(small ones ) and shooting larger ones... frickin cool ... you can even shoot the trunks down to the stump...

As with Farcry It is pretty hard though. I am at a point where I can pick up ammo but it does not show up in inventory (bug) i dunno

Woot! Going at 600 kb/s! Should be done in...40 minutes! Damn, I'm glad I started this early tonight!

I'm hoping it will run better than the beta - MP goes at 20-25 FPS at 1280x1024 on low settings.

I get nothing but corrupted graphics (flashing colors and other flashing crap). My Vista and all drivers are up to date and all my games run great. Someone at another message board (Rage 3D) has the same problem I do but I'll have to wait and see if any others have the same problem. <sigh> oh well

Excellent. Well, once I plugged in my video card and overclocked it to 900mhz on the ram. Now I just need to do something about the core going to 107c!

I ran it on 1680x1050, my GPU was mildly overheating, I had no AA, and medium everything else. It's pretty creepy, imho...pretty creepy.

Well just played for 40 mins on the hardest setting and LOVE LOVE LOVE the suit!. I snuck around and redid the first few encounters with the ai and am on the whole impressed. Trying to program the suit styles into my g15 and trying to maximise the sneaky sneak. The cloak timer is really low and gives this hurry up and hide before I get pwnd feeling that is totally enjoyable. I am getting 20-30 fps on my rig and despite a few slowdowns, only the plane at the beginning and the explosion of the jamming tower did I actually notice the fps drop. Lower framerates seem to be enjoyable at least. I am running with all setting on high at 1440x1050 on a 20 inch lcd and will load this on my htpc on my 40inch LG in a little while to see how that looks.

Running this on a E6600 at 3.5
8800gts 640
2 gigs of ram running at 1000mhz.
game settings on 1440x1050
All setting on high, Vsync off, tried with 2x and 4x AA and the slowdowns were more noticeable. Was hoping to be able to run at this res with a bit of bar-jaggie but alas at least I can sort of run shit on high.

I kept checking the cores on the g15 and they never got pegged at 100 unlike some other games, noticeably in stranglehold. The gts must the the thing holding me back in dx9 since neither the ram or the processor cores seem to be getting taxed to max.

My GTS runs at 85 or so with the OC I have on it and im afraid to push it any higher for this game since the 90s scare me since I can see myself getting lost in this awesome foliage once the full version comes out. My XP partition has only 20 gigs or so left on it and Im wondering if thats holding me back a bit.

Right now I'm under XP/DX9. I had it auto-detect and it put everything on high. Running 1920x1200. I'm intentionally ignoring FPS and just playing the game. No AA. It is very very playable. I wouldn't say smooth, but it's not getting in my way.

Personally I like the gameplay. Not much different from any other FPS and the suit's capabilities are generally gimmicky so far (cloaking and super speed are particularly disappointing because their useful time is so limited - I hope there are capacity upgrades), but I have enjoyed it so far.

The North Korean soldiers are really funny ("eata dat Yankee!!" *grenade*). I won't be surprised if some Korean players are offended.

So who wants to download it, ship me a hardcopy and install it for me while I sleep😉.

Going to pass on the demo like I've been doing for the past few years. I'll let the "payed off" reviews tell whether to buy it or not🙂.

Doesn't make sense to me...why not get a taste of this game that has been hyped to death? See if it's what you expected, if not save the cash. Simple.

Did anyone else get creeped out by those two Cintematics, the first one dealing with you exploring with your friend to see...ahem, the "other" Spec Ops dude and 4 mutilated Koreans. And then by the Frozen Boat...

The controls seem awfully laggy, even when turning down the postprocessing.

Well I can't run it in Crossfire mode, I get weird animations ans glitches and can't really see anything.

Outside of Crossfire mode the game plays ok. I can play at 1920x1200 with no AA, everything on high except shaders, shadows, and particles which I have to set to medium. By doing that I was able to play at a consistent 20-30 FPS (which is fine for SP).

I have to say I freaking love it. It takes all of the good things about Far Cry (mainly the graphics) and eliminates the bad things from it (mainly the cheese factor, which I thought actually worked in Far Cry, but definitely would not in this game).

The graphics are beautiful and the AI seems pretty darn good.

Once they fix whatever is causing Crossfire not to work, I should be golden.

Updated it to 4xAA and didn't notice much of a performance hit. The game is really awesome. Apparently DX9 doesn't support the highest settings. I'm installing it on Vista now.

The game looks amazing on high but it runs like crap on my system. I had to run in 1024x768 windowed mode to get decent performance. I turned post processing to medium cos motion blur is one hell of a hog.

I get about 20-35 fps most everywhere.

I have Core2Duo @ 3Ghz, 2gb ram @ 800mhz, raptor Hdd, X-fi, x1900 crossfire.
I renamed the exe to farcry, bioshock, oblivion and none helped...

Man, I'm gonna just settle with what I have cos I'm not going to spend a grand on a $50 game.
