Did you modify the game in the past? Perhaps there's an old Autoexec.cfg in the main game directory. By default there shouldn't be one. I suppose a reinstall would reset any of that anyway.

Yes I had, and there was... unfortunately getting rid of it didn't help. Guess it's a reinstall for me. Well, at least an uninstall anyway.

Well, I uninstalled. However after doing so I noticed that when EA updated their download manager that it actually changed the install path of where things should be. If it was looking for game launchers on my C drive then that could explain why it wouldn't launch from the Origin app. However that doesn't explain why it wouldn't play after getting it from file explorer.

This new patch really loads up the gpu/cpu to the max. With that said it performs very fluidly on my single gtx 570, 40-60 fps @19x12 ultra settings.

Same hardware, same experience. Could use a few more fps to be perfectly smooth but it's bearable. Tesselation looks great in game doesn't it?

Overall i'm very impressed.

Yeah I'm in the earlier parts of the game just hit Wall street. I'm sure it will start chugging once the night scenes roll around.

I also had a similar issue after the patch and updates and all I did was close Origin (make sure it's not still running in the taskbar) and launch the game from within "games" in the start menu.

The 24hz issue from Crysis has also returned and by enabling gpu scaling from within CCC I end up with 50hz maximum refresh rate (v-sync on) and black borders around the game screen (same as in Crysis). This only happens when launching the game on my 32" hdtv and does not occur when l switch over to another monitor I have close by.:\

I didn't have time to really play the game but I did notice I was getting around 45+fps from 6950s crossfire and a 4.5ghz 2500k with about 70% load from the both cards. Hopefully we will see more performance from driver updates.

I've turned it down from Ultra to Extreme. It's as smooth as it was before the update now but with all the advantages of better graphics. Tell me what you think, but to my eyes Extreme looks better than Ultra.

At all Ultra settings with a 1920x1200 res, my FPS with two GTX580's is around 40-50. Definitely taxes them, but playable.

I didn't see an option to adjust AA, though.

You can enable/disable the in game AA through an autoexec.cfg file. I'm not sure off the top of my head what the settings are though.

I installed it on my 460 rig and it plays smoothly with everything set at Max. Nice job and looks good.

you installed the 1.9 patch and the ultra textures patch? The textures pack requires 1GB or video memory and the 460 only has 896Mb, how did you get it to run?

Finally got it working after reinstalling the whole game. Seems to run pretty smoothly on my GTX570 @ 1080p. Doubt I'll play it much again, but the reflections are nice I guess. The textures are better but concrete and most rocks look pretty bad. I've noticed a lot of odd twitching spots on jagged rocks too. Not sure if it's the tesselation or a clipping issue, but it's a little distracting.

Meh, at least they delivered in a fairly timely manner.

patch 1.9 is updated through steam. To upgrade to DX11+Textures just go to mycrysis.com and dload the dx11 patch and hi res texture patch.(two separate .exe's)

Everything maxxed brings my 5870 to it's knees at 1920x1080. It was a good run for this card, but it has finally showed it's age. Is ATI releasing southern islands around the time BF3 comes out?

Loving the DX11 and texture pack.

Try post processing and shadows on extreme, it made a huge difference on my setup (5850 XXX / i5 750 @ 3.8ghz / 8gb RAM). Will be conducting more tests this evening.

There seem to be massive improvements since I completed the game using patch 1.1.

Just got the game last night, waited for DX11. Got the patch and Hi-Res and DX11. So far it seems to run pretty fair. 30 to 60 on ultra, does use every bit of my video ram, 1480 is the highest I've seen. Even when it dips to 30 it seems pretty smooth. About like Crysis, doesn't need to run at 60 to feel right. These are just my impressions with only a little playing. Got to the waiting for Prophet part, made a mistake. At 1920 x 1200.
