Critical Race Theory

Each of those words, in and of themselves, is a trigger:

Critical - ‘how dare you criticize us/me!’
Race - ‘I don’t see color’
Theory - ‘liberal" colleges pushing elitism with "their" theories.

Fox News concocted a totally bullshit definition of CRT, lied that it’s being taught in elementary schools. That is the reason for the current moral panic. There’s no underlying substance whatsoever.

Imagine that a bunch of people decided that they don’t like the theory of relativity because they believe it legalizes kicking and mutilate puppies. Then those people go to their congress people and demand action.

The legislators could say “Great news, we don’t actually have to do anything because this theory doesn’t say anything about puppies.”

But what a wasted opportunity to claim credit for doing nothing! Instead they draft a bill that says “henceforth it shall be illegal to kick, mutilate, or machine-gun puppies to death in the state schools of, lets say - Idaho.”

The press release goes out, and uninformed folks who have no fucking clue about the theory of relativity raise their eyebrows and say “by god I’m glad they did something about this menace. Mildred, get in here, you’ll never guess what the "liberuls" are doing now.”

It is entirely, 100% a crisis manufactured by American conservatives to stay pissed off and angry and more importantly - to keep the base pissed off and angry

And that’s all it is, manufacturers outrage. The gop do this because if you control the outage you control the narrative and if you control the narrative then actual issues aren’t being discussed and when you have no policies or ideas how to solve real problems, well the last thing you need is to be highlighting that.

Yep, keep them scared and angry so they have no time/reason to critically think. It’s what you do when you have nothing else to promote.

I have a better idea that I think both sides will agree on. I would call it the "2021 project". Instead of just teaching critical race theory as it is, after teaching the chapter on black slaves, teachers should go to the chapter on white slavery and explain what it really is and that it does not involve a white slave working on a farm. Wikipedia link goes to a section that talks about what the term "white slavery" really meant.

Probably easiest to go into this with the understanding that conservatives don’t actually give a shit about any of this. In a year people won’t even remember what critical race theory is because they will have moved on to the next panic.

The point is to distract people from the fact that the democrats’ economic agenda is super popular and the republicans’ the opposite.

I disagree, as I believe their themes and topics are food and fodder for the next election cycle. Both 2022 and 2024.
  • "Democrats believe America is a fundamentally racist and evil country, that you are evil people"
  • "Democrats HATE you"
Are going to be themes for 2024, and ultimately CRT is the foundation of those arguments. They'll be replaced with fresher outrages / themes / topics after that.

I mean that’s been the playbook for the GOP for the last half century. CRT isn’t the foundation of those arguments any more than any other made up reason for the last 50 years.

Remember ‘cancel culture’? That was supposed to be a big thing. Remember THE CARAVAN? They forgot about it literally the day after the 2018 election. They don’t give a shit.

Why stop there? Ebonics (literally exact same situation as CRT, and shows a fundamental inability to understand it by white racist clowns like the OP), Satanic Panic, Disco Demolition (which was blatantly racist and homophobic), etc, etc, etc. Its all the same racist/sexist/bigoted shit over and over and over.

This is because the GOP has no solutions to any of America's issues other than to send in more police to lock up more Americans. So they rile up their base with malicious lies in order to get support for their intended violence against the other half of America.
But name the issue, and the GOP solution is state violence. Homelessness, lock em up. Drug use, lock em up. Social unrest, lock em up. Failure to vote GOP, "it should happen here."

I think I would land more on the side that they think America has different issues, principally that taxes and regulations are too high for rich people. The rest they don’t really care about.

The reply to this post from the OP would be a great way to evaluate whether or not they are being racist intentionally, or they are actually being racist accidentally and are not realizing it.

OP, I would like to know your views and answers to questions regarding the events described in the following two articles.

Was it right to think the name of the town could be the cause of it's slow economic progress, even though it is located in Tarrant County, TX and approximately 6 miles from Fort Worth? If not, what would you have done other than a name change suggestion, if you were the lieutenant of the county?

If you were to vote in the referendum in regards to the name change, who you have voted for or against the name change?

Do you think the suggested new name could have been something better than "West Settlement"?

Do you think the town made the correct decision for voting against the name change? If so, why do you think they made the correct decision?

Another crisis actor like Candace Owens brother? We know the right are sending in shills to pretend they are outraged.

We get it already, if they deviate from what is deemed the "acceptable Democrat slave opinion" then they are an Uncle Tom, Candace Owens follower, blah blah blah.

Keep drinking the koolaid.

Does it bother you that one of your previous sources was misrepresented in your post?

If not, why are you comfortable with lies? If so, how has that made you change?

Did you actually listen to the video? The guy starts out accurately describing CRT and why it is impossible to teach in public schools, and then completely contradicts himself by claiming that CRT teaches people to hate white people, which is absolutely ridiculous. Almost no one supports teaching people to hate white people, and certainly no school districts. Its easy to claim victory when fighting strawmen, but it doesn't advance the discussion.

What he wants is to continue teaching the conservative white mans version of history. Things like...

Continuing to teach Columbus discovered America
Omitting the history of the Tulsa Race massacre.
Failing to be honest how the country was founded on slavery and its long term ramifications.

And to top it off whitey is trying to rewrite the history of Jan 6 which was just a few months ago.

From the person that coined the term: "It's not a thing but a way of looking at things ". 1619 Project uses that way of looking at things.

As for "hate", well It's oppressor vs. oppressed dichotomy.
