You're going to probably freak out that people have requested and have had their ashes spread all around this country/world. My guess is any public attraction has had ashes spread.

I know Fenway Park allows human ashes to be spread on the field. Who knows, maybe the woman had been hospitalized for a long time and her family wanted to give her the opportunity to visit her favorite places, one last time.

It doesn't affect you in one single way.

People are missing the whole point, because as usual the theme here is lets show how cool we are. But my distaste is not because of sanitary reasons. This was not a park or some where down by a beach. They brought this into a PUBLIC place where people eat. There is such thing as common courtesy, which clearly they had none. There is a time and place for everything, a restaurant where people are eating is not a place for you to come in and have a mini wake or viewing. They did this soley to get attention. The woman is dead, she ain't seeing shit. Now if they needed to get themselves mentally together, you go gather at your own damn home and talk about memories. But you don't need to try gather attention.

Common courtesy? Nobody would have even known if the OP didn't decide to show zero common courtesy and eavesdrop on the family's conversation.

And who cares if they brought the woman's ashes to a PUBLIC place where people eat? Her ashes were more sterile than the crap that Applebee's sells as food. How does it affect you? Afraid you're going to get cooties?

I bet you also would freak out if a woman started breast feeding in a PUBLIC place where people eat too.

Dude its straight bullshit to bring a cremated person into a public place to eat. If you wanna eat with her remains you can do it in the privacy of your own home. It was tasteless and they deserved to be shown the door. Give me a fin break..........

It's contained in a god damn URN. They're not gonna febreze that shit in the air for you to inhale, nor pepper the urn in your shitty Applebee's food.

Chemically speaking, it's just a ground-up, inferno-torched dust which is 100x sanitary than a bag of sand. Would you throw a hissy fit if I walked in with a bag of sand?

Yes there's such a thing as common courtesy where you mind your own business and allow people to mourn their loved ones especially when it doesn't affect you physically. So you're affect mentally by it? Get the fuck over it.

Wasn't that long ago people said that about black people eating in restaurants....

Personally, I would have preferred they not take human remains into an eating establishment. I would have to agree with the OP, a public restaurant isn't the place for a wake or funeral. Unless they rented the entire building.

If the manager hadn't asked them to leave, I would have asked for my check and left. Or possibly just outright left, depending on whether or not I'd gotten my food or not and the politeness of the staff/manager.

Exactly. That is my point as well.

I bet they were gay too.

WEll damn it, they damn sure got to go now, LOL. An urn and bun bungalow party, can't have that. I wouldn't sleep for a week.

Hey now I am just joking. Clearly I have made gays such as dainthomas upset. I just like to argue the other side of the story.....

You're scared like a whiney little bitch because of a pile of carbon. You couldn't be more irrational, pussy.

classy, they weren't going table to table and asking people to buy their dead mother a drink, the OP eavesdropped on their conversation and forced his views on them by asking the manager to have them leave. Guess what, not everyone thinks like you, shares the same culture you do or, finds human remains on par with cockroaches. Restaurants are public spaces that encourage people to socialize not, force them to follow your own beliefs. I get plenty ticked off by the idiots I serve every day but, I still serve them with a smile.

I like how you emphasized that restaraunts are "PUBLIC" as if beaches and parks weren't and then you act like beaches and parks are OK. 🙄

Its not irrational. No one needs to eat with someone's dead mother's ashes. That is not irrational, that's rational.

As far as you are concerned it's just a small vase sitting on someone's table. You don't need to be concerned with it, and as long as you are not a busy-body eavesdropper like the OP you won't even know it's there.
