At one point I thought the same. But the fact that no one can provide a real reply to HomerJS after all this time proves his point.
Not that it wasn't obvious from the beginning - that the CRT boogeyman was simply a tool from hard conservatives to stoke racial fears out of moderate/conservative white people.
Where is CRT in the news now? Completely gone.
The VA governorship? A Republican victory because of it.

We can't stop calling out bullshit like this. Yes it takes vastly more effort, but it should be done.

And now? I take some modicum of joy in seeing Homer bump this thread, because I know the silence from our conservative members is deafening.
Glen Youngkin managed to convince a bunch of gullible suburban moms Virginia which was ranked #4 for public schools was failing their kids using the racist CRT cajole. Repeat a lie often enough until people are confused. Joseph Goebbels playbook.

Similar tactic Republicans used to convince people Saddam Hussein had something to do with 9/11

When will we tire of all the lies??

A lie makes it halfway around the world before the truth even gets its pants on.
Yeah, but why does truth always have to take the trollbait?

Something I'd like to recommend is that you guys watch Innuendo Studios' series The Alt-Right Playbook. You all keep expecting that you're arguing with people who share the same ideals that you do... and you're not. And the greater social consequence is that you're always missing what their real lies are, and how to counter them.

For those of you that think this thread is a waste of time. Ric Scott on the Fox Sunday show said CRT is on the ballot this fall. He didn't happen to mention that CRT in public schools is complete bullshit but Republicans are so good at lying.

Mon Jun 18 2022 and still nobody can name the school district where CRT is taught.

Care to tell me why CRT is on the ballot this fall?

Instead of being defensive, why not go on the offense and ask why it would be bad if CRT actually were taught in the schools? Why not ask the Republicans why they want to indoctrinate our children with their racist agenda?

Shut Up.
That's old news.
And it's not important.
We don't care about that.
Oh, you're playing the Race Card again?

Hold their lying feet to the fire, HomerJS.

Because DeSantis, MTG, Abbott, et al, won't be satisfied until Blacks are once again decertified as human beings.

And thank you, Fenixgoon.

Any favorable mention of a Black person in a school or academic setting is considered CRT. This is what this battle is all about.

In other words: Why should their history count?

Seems as if a lot of it isn't even coherent or well-defined enough to be "lies". "Not even wrong" as the phrase has it. That seems to be a common trick - to rail against, or cheer-lead for, things which nobody can pin down enough to engage with.

As with the argument for Brexit (It's about "sovereignty" or "taking back control", apparently - as neither thing was ever defined nobody can prove it wasn't achieved).

Not definitely true, for being considered CRT - the mention, of better said, the movement by activists should have the interest to improve the relationship among race and racism.

As long as folks exist who deliberately misconstrue or proffer vicious lies about U.S. History, race relations will never improve.

Nina, you may not be aware that there are actual courses that are named Critical Race Theory. But they are university law school courses.

Here goes:

Duke University's Law School's description of Course 504 - Critical Race Theory:

"The course affords students an opportunity to think about the ways in which racism, sexism, classism, and heterosexism are inextricably interwoven as well as an opportunity to challenge critically our most basic assumptions about race, law, and justice."

Critical Race Theory | Duke University School of Law
law.duke.edu

From UCLA Law:

"Throughout American history, race has profoundly affected the lives of individuals, the growth of social institutions, the substance of culture, and the workings of our political economy.

"Not surprisingly, this impact has been substantially mediated through the law and legal institutions. To understand the deep interconnections between race and law, and particularly the ways in which race and law are mutually constitutive, is an extraordinary intellectual challenge.

"That is precisely the project of Critical Race Theory (CRT). This course will pursue this project by exploring emerging themes within CRT."

Critical Race Theory | UCLA Law
law.ucla.edu

The problem with lawyers is that they tend to author long-winded descriptions. This is why I'm just going to post the link to Columbia University Law School's lengthy description of CRT:

https://news.columbia.edu/news/what-critical-race-theory-and-why-everyone-talking-about-it-0

Because so many people still think CRT is actually Black History, I came up with a one-sentence explanation of CRT that could simplify matters:

Critical Race Theory is a premise that posits skin color and race determine the outcomes of most decisions, laws and behavior in the U.S.

As I've been screaming about all this bullshit anti-CRT stuff is just a way to cancel black history from American history. They hide their agenda behind "not making white kids feel bad" and "age appropriate". Like I suspected age appropriate was used as an excuse to force a teacher to remove pictures of Harriet Tubman and MLK.

The whitewashing of American history is underway. The teacher resigned in protest. Of course, this happened in Florida where they already have a teacher shortage.

In yet the continuing push to eliminate black history from American history no surprise school district in Texas want to label a book About the life of a slave descendant George Dawson for whom the middle school is named.

Are you telling me kids that have active shooter drills to keep them from being killed today will get so upset learning about this country's history of racism and slavery? Explain to me why active shooter drills are appropriate but learning the truth about this country's history is not.

A Carroll school district committee reviewed a seventh grade teacher’s required reading which is a book detailing the life of George Dawson, whom Dawson Middle School is named after. The district came back with a conclusion that parts of the book were “inappropriate” for the students, according to the Forth Worth Star-Telegram. The content they’re most likely referring to is anything regarding descriptions of slavery and racism.

Connecticut school board member upset because student being told systemic racism exists. If they think it doesn't, I'll send them the story of black people getting lowballed on home appraisals until their pictures are removed. Even famous people like DL Hugley. Classic case of systemic racism.

Holy crap think high school students can't process this idea?
The worksheet states, "Racism is a systemic issue. If you look the other way or deny that these systems exist, you are part of the problem."

Yeah but a a pickup driver I passed last weekend was very convinced CRT needed to be stopped. Of course this same person also informed me via their pickup tail gate that NewsMax was Real News. So they might have some critical thinking issues.

Just a reminder...

Thu Nov 10, 2022 and still nobody can name the school district where CRT is taught.
When I ask this question on a right wing site the exchange goes like this...

Me: Name the district where CRT is taught
Them: A lot of them
Me: Just name one and we will discuss.
Them: Look it up. I'm not doing your work for you.

Not only CRT but the same series of answers when you call them on their lies, conspiracies and bullshit.
