if you're on android, just keep in mind that the grindr app for it is pretty terrible (or at least it was about a year ago, the last time I was running it)... totally destroyed my batterylife because it was running 24/7

but I've always found all the cellphone apps to be a little skeezy and only half a step above craigslist. at least on the hookup-oriented websites, guys seem more inclined to exchange a couple messages back and forth to get to know each other first (in case you're interested in more than a one-time, no strings attached roll in the hay)

Is that sarcasm? I think I understand the issue fairly well for someone who isn't queer. I try to keep my posts concise for two reasons. I don't like writing much, and people don't like reading much. I assume most here are capable of independent thought, so I generally lay out the barest outline, and expect others to connect the dots themselves. If you don't understand the religion/closeted queer connection, I'm not gonna explain it to you. It takes too long, and I don't feel like it.
 
I guess the funniest part about this is how these closeted gay guys manage to get and marry women...presumably without really trying and then you've got all your neckbeards who couldn't get laid to save their life.

Really though, this whole situation is just sad.

Did you find good looking guys in those circumstances, or just settling for whatever because you wanted an easy hook up? I can't imagine trying those "hook up" services and ever finding a half decent looking woman.

One of my wifes good friends almost married a gay guy. They were living together and engaged, and one day she came home and walked in on him jerking it to gay porn. She later did a little sleuthing and found his porn folder on the computer, that was all gay porn. She tried talking to him about it, but he would just get angry and yell at her. She ended up breaking up with him and calling everything off. Worst part is, that guy is now getting married to a girl that has no clue he's gay.
 
This whole gay/ straight definition misses the point. Human sexuality is a continuum. The person in the OP was somewhere in the middle of it his whole life. He did not just suddenly become gay.

Stupid IMO, if ur gay, be gay. Don't ruin someone else's life just to try "fit in" and "look" normal. Like that pastor from the South who was preaching again gays - and of course he was married with like 5 kids. Turned out that he liked to smoke sausage over the weekends and do white powder. Great, pastor, now you ruined everyone's life...

it's like going to a bar with the intentions of hooking up with a chick, without having to waste money buying drinks before taking her back to your place.

like going to a bar, it depends on your standards... if my standards were low enough, I could probably have screwed a different guy every day (back when I was single).

but looking back on the best-looking guys I've ever been with, 3 of my top 5 were from hookup sites. all totally unsuitable for dating (one was a total sex addict, one was an 18 year-old guy just out of high school, and the third was a contractor who was only in the area for a couple months), but fun at the time.

I never used to read the Craigslist personals until a relative told me about looking for people they knew (um..ok?)..anyway some of those personals and missed meetings are the funniest things you'll ever read.
 
Heh.. kinda silly, 50% divorce rate, who cares what the reason is? Gay or not, divorce happens extremely regularly. It's likely that divorce over sexual preference father or mother will still try their best to be a part of their children's lives than not.

This is what I've personally seen anyway.
