They have 5 year old daughter and now they are getting a divorce.

Now my guestion, do people just wake up one day and think oh I think gay? Or most likely they were gay all along...

I have a coworker like this too, but it happened after the kids were grown
 
A lot of it is due to religion. I imagine some hope to get through life as "normal", and then bail part way through. They were gay all along, whether they cared to recognize that or not.

😵 How does gay marriage have any impact on that?

Regarding OP question, chances are he was always gay, whether or not he realized it. It can be something actively hidden/suppressed in an effort to live a "normal" life. Or something slowly discovered that explains why they always felt "off"....or something. Highly doubtful he woke up one day and thought to himself "I like dicks now".

The American family was destroyed as soon as we became an industrialized nation.

The only time we really had an American family was when a guy and a girl nearly killed themselves trying to farm new land and lost half their kids to stupid diseases. You were too busy trying to stay alive to care much about your own personal needs, while procreating without any form of birth control was your only retirement plan.

The ideal American family unit has been a figment of our collective imaginations.

He was getting hot beef injections,fisting etc.. since day one. He was gay since day one, he would just go to gas station bathrooms or parks and have anonymous sex with gays. Too bad for your Cousin her Gaydar was broken.

I'm only metro and have way nicer shit than a lot of people.

As for waking up gay one day: society and/or religion tells you being gay is wrong and will get you beat-up or hated on. They say no one will be your friend if gay except other gays, so it's kind of self-explanatory...
 
Maybe the gayness is a lie to get away from your cousin. Now he'll be lying to his man lover who is also lying about something along the same line. Hence all gay people are liars.

I don't have issues with gay people. At least your open about it but the problem is those who lie and end up getting married with some lady, only to then come out and admit it.
 
Of course they don't suddenly wake up one day and realize they're ga.....hmmmm, some penis sounds really good right now.
