Nobody should take a call in the theater. Let it go to voice mail if you have to, then listen. If it's an emergency, take it outside. Any other excuse for talking on the phone is just a bullsh!t excuse.

wait a minute,,,,i thought junvenile records were sealed after you turn 18???

Records aren't sealed automatically (at least in the US), you have to go through a process... and some crimes aren't sealable (i think this falls under sex crimes, i'm this is only a guess), and you can be deny if you've commited multiple offences.

So what was her supposed "family emergency"? What, was her OTHER baby daddy calling her to say he couldn't watch HIS kid (1 of the 4 she probably has) because he was going to knock up some other lady?

Probably.

This has got to be the dumbest post I've read all month.

Month's not over yet. Keep reading.

So, are you saying you get dumber?!? 😀

No, I'm just saying that I stand by what I posted. By the names of the parties involved, and the incident described, I drew my own conclusions. If they're wrong, then so be it, but that's the way I see the two "victims" and I feel nothing for them.

Edit: And here are the mug shots of the 2 alleged "victims". HAHAHAHA OWNED! You tell me they don't look like a couple of loud, obnoxious, sh!t talking troublemakers.

I'm sorry, I forgot you had the ability to judge a person based on looks alone. What's that power called?

Oh right, uninformed prejudicial bias. You sir, are a troll.

how did they get those pics? even if you are alleged to have commited a crime and taken in, that info is subject to be released???

Police reports are open for all to see.

When i first read the story, i first assumed that the couple were white college kids for some reason.
I thought to myself, "why the heck would a cop spray these kids with mace? makes no sense?"
Then I saw their pictures and it explained everything.

I think I believe the cop and the theatre's usher. One of the "witnesses" who claimed the attack was unprovoked was a friend of the perps. 'nuff said.

Completely racist, although I thought the same.

Not racist, just pessimistic. Thinking the cop was a little racist doesn't make you a racist.

I think it's equally possible the accused were racist as well, automatically assuming a white cop was attempting to persecute them. I'm sure race played a part in the escalation of the events.

And I know you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but these folks don't look particularly calm and reasonable. I think it's the hairstyles: they seem very urban, very "I swear I have street cred".

They looked pretty much like I imagined them. Well, except I pictured them with their eyes sealed shut and tears flowing down, curled up in a little ball on the floor screaming in pain from the mace, but, other than that, I think they look pretty guilty to me.

Well, regardless of right or wrong, they'll end up cashing in some from the settlement the city or the theater offers them.

Police Officer is a law enforcement official. That said, if the law wasn't broken, what's there to be enforced? Sure, talking on the cellphone in the theatre is stupid and highly inconsiderate, but if no law was broken, the power trip cop had no right to order anyone to leave using his police authority. The officer had no jurisdiction over something that annoys him on a private property.

He was given authority by his employer at the time, AKA, the movie theater. Once a business or property owner, business or property manager, or a representative (AKA, an employee, like the usher and the police officer) asks someone to leave, they can and will be arrested if they refuse. It's not complicated, folks.

Call me what you want, but after reading the articles and accounts of what happened, and seeing their pictures, I can very easily see these two "victims" escalating the situation and trying to get roughneck with the officer. In my mind, they got what they deserved.

Have fun at your next ACLU or Rainbow Coalition gathering.

I just went to the movies last night to see The Bourne Supremacy. There was a baby who kept on crying for at least 20 minutes and the parents didn't step out. Did they deserve to be maced?

Only if the police asked them to leave and then they came at the officer with a clenched fist and swung their drink at his head. (from the officer's version)

most good theaters dont allow children under 4 for exactly this reason.

Not really true, most still allow small children.

No, but you do for ignoring the fact that the cop in this story was physically threatened by a "5' 11" 235 lb musclar man" (description in police report) and his woman threw a big gulp at his head.

Only the baby does. I mean, its not like the parents were the ones crying through the movie.

And damn if that big gulp isn't heavy!

You know, I'm not a violent guy... But if anyone threw a theater sized drink at my head and connected getting their sitcky, backwash filled soda all over me, they'd get the crap smacked out of them. I praise the cop for showing restraint.

When will these people learn that you should not attack a police.

you don't charge the police

you don't assault the polic

you don't taunt the police

you do what they say. Its not that difficult to understand. Resist? Well then you're gonna get some pain.

True enough. The police have guns and billy clubs and radios they can use to call their friends to come help kick your ass. Just do what they say, I mean WTF it doesn't even sound like the cop was being unreasonable...he asked them to leave and said they'd get their money back.
