How about spraying the cop in his face with 20 molar HCl, I think that would put a stop to his pepper spraying problems.

He should be brought up for criminal assault put on permanent suspension and permanently banned from possessing any firearm or any chemical weapon.

They were out I cannot see any reason for that.

Cops have gone insane lately and they should be treated like the maniacs they are.

I am quite late in the post so probably somebody mentioned something like this, or at least I hope.

Did you READ the entire story? The man, a 235lb musclar man at that, threatened the cop with physical violence. The woman was throwing things at the cop and hit him in the heard with her big gulp.

Pepper spray is SUPPOSED to be used in situations like this. It allows the cop to regain control of a situation without violence.

Tell me how YOU would control a 235lb muscular man who becomes threatning without violence or pepper spray?

I'm bad, but the story does not fit. They were leaving the theater right, not sprayed in the theater. This creates speculation in my mind which goes against the officer at the moment.

the cop seems to have done a good job in this situation ......now that all the facts are coming out it is much more clear that he was in the right.

This has to be one of the most retarded things I have heard in some time. Why post crap like this and not even bother to read the thread?

They got out in the hall and decided then to be thretening. Why is that so hard to believe?

In fact, I'll bet the cop told them, "step out in the hall and we'll talk" so as not to bother the other movie goers. I'll also bet he told them in the hall thet they could not go back in and would have to leave.

Good for them. I am beyond sick of people in theatres trying to impress everyone with their 'bling' with their 10,000,000 lumen bright blue cricket phones in the middle of a movie. It is uncalled for.

Hmm how much would it cost for theatres to put sheet metal plating behind every wall...

Or a microwave EMI jammer.

The problem is, blocking cell phones is illegal in the US.

But somehow most of the Casinos in Las Vegas manage to do it. I wonder how?

Casinos here do not block cell phones. The're prohibited by law near the sports/race book area.

The casino can prohibit them elsewhere due to the fact that it is private property.

Many cell phones do not work within the casinos due to the fact that the gaming area is shielded by the mass of concrete and steel (hotels) that acts like an EM shield. This is no different than trying to use your cell phone in a tunnel.

Actually part of the training for a lot police officers is to BE sprayed with that stuff and hit with tazers so they KNOW what its like. Saw a thing on our local news just a few days ago where they were showing the trainees in the police academy being sprayed full in the face with pepper spray and then basically curling up on the ground in pain from it. Quite entertaining to be honest.

The cop did the right thing. Besides, would you rather be pepper sprayed... or beat down with a nightstick?

That's what I figured. It was the building material used.

They were leaving the theater, BUT they were also threatening the cop (disorderly conduct). So he pepper-sprayed the b!tches.

The cop was working security at the theater, probably in uniform. Anybody who argues with a uniformed cop gets what they deserve.

I'm kind of glad to see that happen. If every person that was extremely rude in public had to get sprayed in the face with pepper spray one time in their life, the world would be much more pleasant. Just look at the cop pepper spraying them as making up for the control their parents probably didn't impose on them.

No sympathy for rude people being minorly inconvenienced. They will be fine the next day and think twice about bringing their cell phones into the movie theater next time.

Hey would pull down his pants, bend over and say. "Hey, Sailor!"

Looks like Chris Rock needs to come out with another video: "How not to get maced by the poh-leece", to complete his collection of "How not to get your ass beat down by the poh-leece".

wrong answer buddy. that a cop's response. are u a cop?

Regardless of what that cop did, if you're answering the phone in the theater (if it's an emergency, you could answer it an tell them to wait and immediately walk out), it's definitely a happy day when you get blasted in the face with pepper spray.

talking, kicking, yelling, cell phones and anything else of that sort pisses me the hell off....a few times ago....this old guy falls asleep and the WHOLE room could hear the guy snoring...no joke....if anything its getting out of control, and MORE things like this need to happend. It was not a family emergency the retard made that up, and the retards should be shot for using the word "cracker" amongst other stupid racial absurd behavior.

I hope they get a phone log of the "family emergency". Likely her mother asking how the movie was.

I am, and I can tell you that no cops I know would respond that way. Again, Mace is a brand of chemical restraint. It combines OC & CN gas. Which is "stronger" is extremely subjective. Not only do the concentrations of various OC sprays differ, but the specific formula will differ from brand to brand.

I wish people here stop bringing their irrelevant personal feelings towards cops ("I got a ticket last week") or people using cellphones in theatres ("I hate those people that don't switch them off") as an excuse for their views. This is about a cop using pepper spray not because they used a cellphone, or because he's a bad cop that like to harras people with traffic tickets, this is about a couple of houligans which behaved violently when told to stop using a cellphone and leave the theater (unless you believe their version of the story which seems far fetched).
