so that means i dont have to abide by property regulations? i can go tell the city of rockford to fuck them and fuck their $700 a day fines they are imposing on me because my tenant is a ghetto person? yes, now you guys know why im siding with the county on this story. some people are trash and deserve to lose their rights, just like this lady.

You live in rockford? shit that explains a lot..

You have to abide by the laws. IF you chose not to they will contact you and fine you. IF you ignore them they will eventually have a sheriff do it.

at no time are they allowed to enter your home.

NOBODY deserves to lose any rights. no matter how trashy they are.

umm, no. as the landlord, it's your responsibility unless explicitly stated in the lease agreement.

You don't lose your constitutional rights, you never lose them as they are yours to begin with and not "given" to you.

You can disregard all property regulations you desire, that never gives anybody the right to enter your property without proper permission. Be that permission from the home owner or a judge.

If someone takes a hard fall and your there . The right thing in america would seem to be to help them . Bad mopve . They will sue your ass. You get the proper people to help to avoid lawsuite. Ya I know how that sounds . But thats the way of things in america.

thats fine. as long as we all agree this guy did the RIGHT thing, even if it MIGHT have been illegal.

he lied about doing the right thing. the whole point is that he did the right thing in that particular situation. he lied about something good, meaning he simply thought it would be an easier story to digest. nothing more. no big grand reason to lie, just that it seemed the easier route. big deal. the fact that he didnt know there was cameras justifies his actions even more. he clearly was just concerned for peoples safety- watch how he acts in the video.

I'd guess your between the age of 18-25

Lying to your employer is a big deal and in most cases will lead to unemployment. So yeah no bigge if you don't care about your job.

um... a judge can take away your constitutional rights.

Entering somebody's home without permission is never the right thing unless it is obvious it is necessary to do so to save life. There were no signs somebody was in imminent and immediate danger.

i get it. he lied after doing the right thing. oh my god shoot him.

this would be a completely different story if that lady was diabetic or something and he saved her life by not waiting for someone else to help. but just because she was ok, she was lying in bed like a piece of shit ignoring the world, then he is in the wrong? whatever

The guy didn't lie to make it easier to digest, he lied because he knew what he was doing was wrong and he didn't know he was on video.

If he thought what he was doing was right he would not have lied about it.

yes there was. multiple warnings, visible deterioration of the property, open front door, bad stench. he would have been a bad person for not doing something.

You're right, the something he should have done is call his supervisor and ask how to proceed. After all, that grass was getting LONG...

I will get a picture of what one person in my village has done to the boulavard along side the street . Its clearly illegal just as our mayor is . The Cop wears blinders in this and many instances he is old and only seeks retirement for 25 years service that had no value to any in my village. You can not make boulavards impassable for people on foot its the law. its your lland only in deed but the cities in reallity, have someone slip fall and get hurt on your ice sidewalk boulavard and see who gets sued . it will be you not the city. but in this case i speak of the city is clearly liable for allowing it.

This guy had no right to enter the home and absolutely should be fired. This is why we need less government because of these government workers and scum bureaucrats have no respect for the people

i think he lied because he knew he couldnt prove that what he did was right.

its in the video. he tried to get her attention, clearly. then things didnt seem right, so he checked to make sure.

watch the video guys! this lady is a lazy pile of crap! the county worker banged on the door multiple times, its clear in the video. he tried both doors. the place looked abandoned. then he found the front door OPEN. if he DIDNT enter the house he would be a bad person for not worrying about someones safety!

Irrelevant. If the owner of the house doesn't give you permission, you do not enter the home. Plain and simple.

I believe he was being a good samaritan. I have read stories similar to this but instead of a sue happy person inside, there actually was someone inside needing assistance.

Bottom line is, he lied during the investigation and that has consequences.

If I were him, I would have given her some leeway on the citation perhaps give her a week or so to remedy the problem.

If he had not responded, and a person was inside near death. He very well could have been questioned as to why he didn't help when he saw the yard unkept, foul stench eminating from inside of house and door being open.

I know the law saids no one enters a house unless with warrant or permission. If there was smoke coming from the roof and he entered to see if anyone was inside, would he still be the bad guy? Either way he was able to articulate why he thought there could be someone needing assistance from inside the house.

I'm hoping that this lady one day needs real help and everyone just walks past her not making eye contact.
