technically they're not back until january...

The whole thread was meant to be tongue in cheek anyway :p

I do believe that the jobs situation will improve as long as that is promised is not delivered. (and according to history with R's it wont be delivered)

When Americans get angry they fuck themselves.

A new virtue is going to arise in America, the virtue of being poor and saving a dollar a week. Millions of sheep are going to be trained to be proud of the fact they live on nothing. There's not been a class war since the domestication of sheep.

First of all, the economy is cyclic. The economy will pick up eventually despite/regardless of who controls congress. Second, all this rhetoric about reigning in debt and spending during the recent campaigns is absolutely bogus because that would mean reigning in Medicare and Social Security. That will never happen as the people in the >59.5 age group actually go out and vote. The only thing that might help is congressional term limits or making the lack of a balanced budget punishable by death.

Anything bad that happens is because the Dems still have the Senate and White House. Anything good is because the Republicans took the House. That's just how it works.

Why are so many of you such partisan fucking hacks? You guys all know none of this shit is going to happen, you create an illusion of difference. Stop fucking labeling things so you can discredit them. Fuck prop 19 not passing has me so goddamn jaded, fucking hate politics.

Stop advocating this terrible policy. It would be a disaster. Far more power for the powerful to select from the strangers to be the 'new' people.

As opposed to career politicians who are able to send pork to their districts because of their seniority? Ted Stevens and John Murtha were only stopped due to scandal and death.

Voters are so fickle. Believe me these results do not mean in any form there is a republican love fest. Voters have the ability to turn on a dime. And 2012 is the biggie when people come out for the presidential race. Midterms get out highly motivated voters. Thats why the % is so much less. A lot of voters sit midterms out. Especially the ones that put Obama in office last time. They'll be back in 2012. Will see if the tea party really has what it takes then. The republicans have another 2 years to screw things up further.

Will be more "Hope and Change" We'll get more of the former and less of the latter.

Yes, cyclic. The hot buzzword right now.

Too bad the cycles lately have been "When the Dems have power, the economy gets better (or at least stops getting worse) and when the Pubs have power the economy gets worse."

I'll bet you would if there wasn't any other jobs and it was that or nothing.

That would be quite a nice world where the only thing available was $70k+/yr jobs. However, since we're playing make believe, my job would be a $1 million+/yr position where I work from home and nef all day long.
