Why people reserve sh!t, I have no idea. If you don't get it on the release date, guess what? You'll be able to get it later.
And cheaper.

A $59 game on release date can drop to $19 after 6 months.
well guess what ... maybe the people want to play it as soon as possible? ever think about that?
Wow, what an amazing concept. I've never pre-ordered a game and I've ALWAYS gotten it on the release date. You want to see me grab Halo 3 without a pre-order when it's released?
Why rag on people because they want to preorder? It gives peace of mind knowing that you'll be able to walk into a store on launch day, pick up your copy without hassle, and go home to play it. True, most of those times you can pick up a copy without preorder, but with a big game like Halo 3, chances are good that the usual suspects of EB and Gamestop will be the only ones who will release it on launch day, of which they usually only get enough copies for preorders (they get a LOT of them). The likes of Circuit City and Best Buy typically get them in the days following launch. For some gamers, they want to be playing alongside everyone else on day 1, so a quick and easy preorder solves that.

You obviously are a big enough gaming nerd to get games on the release day, but you bash those who want to preorder it? Why?

Maybe it's the fact that I've always viewed it as a scam. The store takes your money and makes interest off it without giving you anything in return. Even with a pre-order, it isn't unheard of that you won't get a copy on the release date. I walked into EB when Doom3 was released and they sold me a copy that someone else pre-ordered. Now talk about getting screwed.

If someone wants to pre-order something, knock yourself out. I just think it's pointless.

Yah ... because that's how all stores operate

you think that all stores have extra copies they can sell people? i've pre-ordered plenty of games and when I call them on launch day and say "did you get <insert game here> in stock?" the first question they ask me is "did you reserve it?". If I reserved the game, I can get it fine. There's been times I've not reserved the game and had to call elsewhere.

Sure I eventually found a store with it, but the convenience of giving ebgames my $5 to guarantee me one is worth it.

OMG THEY EARNED INTEREST OFF MY $5 THAT I GAVE THEM A FEW WEEKS AGO! THOSE THIEVING BASTARDS!

gimmie a break. you are that concerned about what other people do with their money that you have to put down people who preorder games? i used to have respect for you when we talked about SF2 on these boards, but after your comments in this thread it shows what kind of person you are.
Are you high on something? Did you come up with the concept of pre-ordering games? Because you sure are sensitive about the subject. I love this:

but after your comments in this thread it shows what kind of person you are.
What in the fvck did I say that got your panties in a wad? What, because I said I never understood why people pre-order games? Jesus Christ, wow, I can't believe they allowed that kind of hate speech on these boards. I can see why you'd be offended.

And if you go back and read, I already said I don't give a sh!t about what people do with their money; however, I will comment on it. So what kind of person does this show I am? Someone that doesn't believe in pre-ordering? Give me a freakin' break. You need to get a life. It's pretty pathetic that you're getting that upset with someone, just for the fact that they don't like to pre-order a freakin' game.
