And cheaper.

A $59 game on release date can drop to $19 after 6 months.

I'd be willing to wager that Halo3 will not budge from retail of $59 (aside from the occasional $5-10 off ad) for at least a year

it was your fault you were dumb enough to preorder a game before any official price was announced. $100 was just an estimate by stores.

why the hell you would preorder a game almost a year before it is released is beyond me.

Now that the price was raised to $130?could I argue the only reason I preordered the legendary pack was because the clerk guaranteed me that it would cost $100 and therefore I should only have to pay the $100? Not that I would ever do this but I can imagine that there might be somebody out there upset because they were willing to pay $100 for the pack but not $130?just a thought.

No, but you'd be entitled to your $50 back, or a pre-order of the regular edition if you want it.

Why not? They don't care about you, why should you take their crap?

Their "crap" - you mean their lack of omniscience with regard to final retail prices of products that won't be released for another 8 months?

Now that is stupid, when you could resell it for a tidy profit :p.
If you found a stash of <insert drug here>, would you sell it to someone you knew that was addicted to it? Some people actually have morals.
You're comparing buying drugs to buying a video game? And what the fvck do morals have to do with buying a video game for $13? If you found it somewhere to buy for $13, when you could resell it for atleast $100, and you didn't do it......yes, you'd be stupid. Maybe you're having this conversation in your own head like it was stolen or something, otherwise you're full of it.

What is the regular price? From what I read, it's gonna be $60.
That's pretty regular for over-hyped games these days. Doom 3, for example.
You are awesome. You hate consoles, but you know absolutely everything about console gaming, obviously. $59.99 is the regular price of most all new 360 and PS3 games nowadays, overhyped or not.

So, are you against all gaming completely, or are you just a PC gaming fanboy? If so, why such the interest in continuing to come back to a thread that has already been established as being about Halo 3?

games actually should be more expensive. Don't see how they can profit otherwise, unless, you want ads in your games

Wow, what an amazing concept. I've never pre-ordered a game and I've ALWAYS gotten it on the release date. You want to see me grab Halo 3 without a pre-order when it's released?

Hmm, this is almost as stupid as people rushing out to get flu shots in the middle of January, standing in line for hours with 100s of sick people in sub-freezing temps.

Holy crap people. BUY THE GAMES YOU WANT WHEN YOU WANT. Stop complaining about games OTHER people at a time of THEIR choosing buy because THEY like them. Get over the fact that there is something popular that you don't like.

whats the big deal, its preorder price right? whats going to be the regular price when it finally hits shelves?

how nice is that bonus helmet thingy
Regular copy of Halo 3: $59.99? (It's a first-party game, will it be $49.99?).

Collector's Edition of Halo 3: $69.99? Maybe a two-disc set of the game along the lines of the Halo 2 collector's edition.

Legendary Edition of Halo 3: A four-disc set, featuring a video of cut-scenes from the Halo games with DVD-style director's commentary, among other extras like documentaries and and a look at the way Halo fans have extended the fiction, in addition to the actual game. Oh, and there's a cat-head sized SPARTAN helmet that you'll put over the four discs as a display piece. How much will this all cost? No one has a clue.

Why rag on people because they want to preorder? It gives peace of mind knowing that you'll be able to walk into a store on launch day, pick up your copy without hassle, and go home to play it. True, most of those times you can pick up a copy without preorder, but with a big game like Halo 3, chances are good that the usual suspects of EB and Gamestop will be the only ones who will release it on launch day, of which they usually only get enough copies for preorders (they get a LOT of them). The likes of Circuit City and Best Buy typically get them in the days following launch. For some gamers, they want to be playing alongside everyone else on day 1, so a quick and easy preorder solves that.

You obviously are a big enough gaming nerd to get games on the release day, but you bash those who want to preorder it? Why?

Maybe it's the fact that I've always viewed it as a scam. The store takes your money and makes interest off it without giving you anything in return. Even with a pre-order, it isn't unheard of that you won't get a copy on the release date. I walked into EB when Doom3 was released and they sold me a copy that someone else pre-ordered. Now talk about getting screwed.

If someone wants to pre-order something, knock yourself out. I just think it's pointless.

Yah ... because that's how all stores operate

you think that all stores have extra copies they can sell people? i've pre-ordered plenty of games and when I call them on launch day and say "did you get <insert game here> in stock?" the first question they ask me is "did you reserve it?". If I reserved the game, I can get it fine. There's been times I've not reserved the game and had to call elsewhere.

Sure I eventually found a store with it, but the convenience of giving ebgames my $5 to guarantee me one is worth it.

OMG THEY EARNED INTEREST OFF MY $5 THAT I GAVE THEM A FEW WEEKS AGO! THOSE THIEVING BASTARDS!

gimmie a break. you are that concerned about what other people do with their money that you have to put down people who preorder games? i used to have respect for you when we talked about SF2 on these boards, but after your comments in this thread it shows what kind of person you are.
