How old are you? 80?

If you think Citi didn't have your financial info long before this transfer, you are wrong.
Your info is a commodity in the financial industry. It gets traded around to anyone willing to pay.
Nice help there. No, I am not 80 and my age has nothing to do with two-faced companies and people supporting them. If you can only provide derogatory commentary of real issues then I think you might find more satisfaction at beating up those 80 year olds.

Acting like this is a common process is wrong. You are just accepting it and I am not.

I kept getting notices from AMEX regarding the change and I went ahead and signed up for the card they were offering. When I did that it gave me the option of adding it to my current online account which I did. Hopefully that will allow me access to my Costco statements as well as the new card going forward however AMEX does say this in their FAQ regarding the switch:

When I signed up for the Blue I had to create a separate online account. I wonder why the difference.

Try logging into it with your current Costco account, then look at My Cards. There is an option there to add a new card so maybe you can do it there. It turns out that I am still getting the warning about downloading the statements so I will probably do that just to be safe.

I'm sure the Supreme Court will take your case.

"With the Costco credit card acceptance changing to Visa on June 20, including those issued by Chase, Chase Freedom is announcing that it will continue to offer the 5% cash back category of Wholesale Clubs through the end of the year. Chase Freedom cardholders earn 5% cash back each quarter on up to $1,500 in combined purchases from Wholesale Clubs, including Costco®, BJ’s® and Sam’s Club®, and other additional rotating quarterly categories."

Too bad I already bought $1200 worth of gift cards lol.

Woo! Nice!
Now I have very little reason to use the Citi card at all.
Into the junk drawer it goes!

Wait, are they saying the 5% $1,500 warehouse is repeatable for the 3rd and 4th quarter as well? So I can get the same cashback for 3rd and 4th quarter even if I maxed it out this current quarter? Or they're just giving us until the end of the year to spend up to $1,500? Cause I already spent the $1,500 Costco gift cards but would love to get $3,000 more.

You're either very generous or you need to cut back on who you're friends with. 🙂

Well, I assume he's spending the cash cards on his own purchases.

Either that or I need to make some friends like him. 😉

In any event, from how I interpret that Citi announcement, they're just extending the promo and not providing a new bucket for spending.

Chase.

And from what the blog sites are saying, basically they're adding "warehouse stores" as a bonus to 3rd and 4th quarters. Still $1500 a quarter.

Oops. You're right, it looks like Chase is adding warehouse clubs to the rest of the calendar so you can charge another $3000 (assuming you didn't want to use any of the other categories).

Sweet - just scored a Chase Freedom card. Nothing fancy, sure, but that 5% is gonna be awesome!

On June 20th I'll see if I can apply for the Citi Costco card. Some damned nice non-rotating reward tiers on that card.

I think, judging from the letters they've sent, even if you have another AMEX card your statements for the costco one goes bye-bye after the 20th.

Usually, Chase Freedom puts a flyer in the billing statement about such promotion. I don't think I have seen such a flyer in my latest bill.

citi Costco visa card online verification:
You agree that if this is a cell phone number or a number you later convert to a cell phone number that we or our service providers can contact you at the number by autodialer, recorded or artificial voice, or a text. Phone plan charges may apply.

WTF?! 😡

so theres no longer a diff in rewards between the business credit card and the regular credit card.

looks like the business credit card is going in the sock drawer since my business shut down last decade 😛

What's weird about that? They use robots to call people about everything from "your account is past due" to "you bought some peanut butter that will probably kill you. Please bring it back for a refund."

So if they call you and you answer while you're parasailing in Paraguay, no fair suing them over your international roaming charges.

I read it as spam by them and their marketing partners via txt.

Today they switched over to Citi and when I went to get gas in the morning, I totally forgot to bring the new Costco Citi card, so my old Amex was rejected. Luckily Costco already have extra attendant at hand to help out, as they do realized that some customers might forgot about the switch day. I was given a $5 gas card to fill my gas tank, free of charge after showing them my old Amex Costco card.

So I tried to get my last AmEx statement at their website and could not, as it was not available and now I see I am locked out of the account. They said this was coming so it's not a surprise.

I was surprised to see that the current balance has been transferred to Citi. I thought that would be collected by AmEx.

I'm wondering when a statement will be available as the billing cycle closed a number of days ago. I also want to set up autopay and although I was able to enter bank information, I could not set up a monthly autopay of the balance, only a one time payment. I assume that once a statement is available I will also be able to set this up as I wish.

Just some musings this morning.

P.S. Learning to navigate a new CC site is always more time consuming than I like.

Thankfully I am familiar with both Citi and Amex sites, so that's nothing new for me. I didn't have a Costco Amex, and I am glad I didn't, going through a transition like this would be aggravating.
