Old - '69 Mustang Mach 1

There's a fully restored '71 Mach 1 for sale at a local auto yard, it's a killer car.

$20k for it, not bad considering almost everything is brand new on it.

nahh just curious what people think...both are symbols of american car making

Mustang hands down. 99% of vettes look like ass (only exception being the super early rounded lines convertible models)...then again, 95% of stangs look like ass. But, nothing compares to the 64 1/2 - 69 ponies. Besides, Mustang has redeemed itself with the '05's, vettes still look like ass.

You'll find that most of the people here could care less about american car symbols. They see it as a status symbol more then anything else (reason why the vette is winning).

If you go to any car ethusiast website you'll find that they'll always be leaning to one side. The blue ovals will always stand behind the stangs and GT40's. The bowties will always stand behind the f-bodies and vettes.

Most vette owners are posers have never even taken it to the track or even driven it hard and given the chance will "trade up" for a car that would offer them a bigger penis but no additional performance. Most mustang owners own v6's and us it as just "another car".

No, this is opinion USA where everyone is entitled to one. I don't like angular cars (or flat ones), I do like rounded lines. Hence, vettes suck and ponies rule. I can almost guarantee you won't find a 'sharp' car I like.

You like rounded cars but you don't like the fifth gen C5?

Is this a C5? If so then no, not really. That's not as bad as most vettes, but it's hardly a rounded shape. Corvette to my mind is like
this
or this.

Only ones I actually like are more like the '58

It's very possible I'm crazy, but I'm looking at a '69 mustang and it looks more jagged than a c5/c6 vette.

Yes that is a C5, and same exact wheel/color combo as mine (however my back ones are different). If you ever sit in one look out the front hood. I'm sure you'll change your mind. I wasn't too hot about them until I sat in one. I'm not a big fan of the older gen vettes especially the boxy C4. I love the C6 though.

You find this more angular? Wow, apparantly shape is a subjective value of perception. *boggle*

'66 GT350 or a '67 427 Convertible? Tough choice, both part of my 'dream garage'. Take '85, however, and the Mustang bests the Corvette in every category (straight or curved). Until the current Z06's, no Vette could beat a Cobra R around a normal road track. Then again, the last Mustang body style is, shall we say, less than flattering? Of course, IMO, that goes doubly so for the '05 models of both....

The Cobra R wasn't out til 2000. And it couldn't outrun a ZR-1. From '85 the vette dominated the curves.
