Corvette vs Mustang

not really the same class...mustangs or more comparable to camaros. I'd take a vette easily, the new z06's are HAWT

No you aren't- you said "year is not an issue."

But assuming both cars are the same year, I would always take the Vette, however given the choice between a cheesy 80's Vette and a 60's Mustang is about the only condition where I would opt for a Mustang.

I would question the sanity of anyone who would choose a '68 Mustang over a '68 Corvette

Or worse, an '85 Mustang over an '85 Corvette
I'm not even sure why you mentioned the '80s models....unless you're kidding. I hope!

Your OP said money or year is not an issue. The best years for both makes are the 2005-2006 years as far as performance, comfort and road manners anyway. The only ones that are comparable would be the classics and only in price. Anything made after say 1973 are not comparable. Actually, I don't think the classics are either quite frankly. The Vettes were always better than the Stangs. They just aren't in the same league.

yeah - the vette is in a diff league - the camaro comparison would be more reasonable.
 
GM and Ford were at Virginia Tech yesterday, one of the things they brought was a 2006 Z06. It was sitting maybe 30 feet from the Mustang that ford brought. I have to say, sitting side by side.... give me the Vette.
 
The 80s 5.0 mustangs are cars that defined the future generation of performance , a late 80s mustang will beat a late 80s vette .

Only on the strips...which is not the intended purpose for the vette. It is for the Mustang.
