The sad part is, they will sell quite a few of these drastically overpriced and underperforming chips. Oh the luxury of having and maintaining a monopoly huh.
I've seem several of your recent posts and was amused. Now your Intel anti-fanboy stripes are glaring. The sad part is, they will sell quite a few of these drastically overpriced and underperforming chips. Oh the luxury of having and maintaining a monopoly huh.
I think the prices stink for what they are. I don't plan on buying any for myself nor any of my customers anytime soon... Just mo obviously. They will sell well though...

I agree. These seem VERY expensive, for a dual-core.
Does anyone know if we'll see this release push down the price of the i5-750 at all?
didnt you just answer your own question? that cpu is fine for 99% of gaming unless you are running a very high end gpu set up.Is there a reason why I should get an i3 even if I have a 3.5 year old 2.8GHz E6300? All I do is gaming and yet I'm still far from being CPU limited with such an old chip.
Those prices are pretty ridiculous but I'm not against a corporation charging whatever the market will bear.
i7 860 4C/8T- $229
i7 920 4C/8T- $200
i5 750 4C/4T- $150
Unless Micro Center plans to sell them all for $130 or less, they're not worth their current price IMO.
Yeah, I live 45 minutes from a Micro Center and I'm quoting their prices, so what?
Pretty close to these numbers from July.

Agree except . . .So, only the 2.93GHz i3 is worth buying.
The pentium is lame because it doesnt have HT, and the rest of the line is stupidly overpriced. I mean, does OCers really care about VT and turbo boost?

While the market will have to decide on the price/performance of these CPU's, everything I've read shows greater performance at lower prices than the CPU's they're replacing. Seems to be the right direction for the 800-pound CPU gorilla. Have you seen the other Wintel 800-pound gorilla do likewise?
Given Intel's fab commitment to 32nm, I'd be surprised if they don't sell 100-million Clarkdale/Arrandale's by the end of this year. If so, I'd call that a strong market endorsement.
You can call it intel anti fanboy or anything you want for all I care, the fact of the matter is, this thing get's pounded by a $99 quad. If you're willing to pay more for less, that's your problem. I'll take the better deal thanks.![]()
