Each officer has to issue 144 tickets a year... 12 a month... figuring they work 20 days a month, that's less than one a day. It's not like he's telling them to give tickets just for the heck of it, he's just telling them to actually do their job. In my experience with cops, every time I've been pulled over in my home state it was for something I REALLY deserved a ticket for. In other states... not so much. In general I think cops are pretty reasonable. I've had cops pull up behind me when I'm doing 75-80 in a 65, and I just move over and they go right by. Just the other day someone I know was on his cell phone on the highway (illegal in NJ) and a cop pulled up beside him, motioned for him to hang up, then went right on by. There's so many times cops COULD give tickets and don't, because for the most part they're reasonable human beings.
