I'd like to read the drama-free version. I've been Tased before, and there's some serious exaggerations there.

I'm a little reluctant to believe that they tased him AFTER he showed them ID.

So, he was black, and that scared the white cops into falsely tasering and arresting him, to cover up the fact they tasered him by mistake in his own home. Who here is surprised to hear this story? I'm not.

It's hard to say "no matter what" without knowing what actually happened. I can guarantee that the linked articles are inaccurate.

true.

but if it is true he was sleeping they shouldn't have. Also they should have tried to get the facts before they tased him.

but i agree that i think the articles are inaccurate. we are getting one side of the story (sensationalized at that).

there are always 3 sides of the story. his, theirs and the truth.

I don't see how this could possibly be justified unless he was throwing punches

lol @ your post full of irony.

it's hard for waggy to be right about saying no matter what he shouldn't have been tazed, but you can 100% guarantee the articles are incorrect.

NORTH BRADDOCK, Pa. - Two North Braddock police officers won't face criminal charges for Tasering a man who was asleep at home. But the FBI will review the incident for possible civil rights violations.

Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala Jr. says county police determined Officers Gerard Kraly and Lukas Laeuricia (loo-REE'-see-uh) didn't commit a crime when they Tasered Shawn Hicks, who was sleeping on his couch.

Police came to Hicks home because they were alerted by a silent security alarm at his home about 2 a.m.

Hicks says the officers Tasered him again after he woke up and showed them ID to prove he lived at the home. Hicks' attorney says he will pursue civil action.

Information from the Post-Gazette. If the articles were entirely true, I'd think this would be all over CNN...but I suppose I could be wrong.

I'm not going to say they were completely right to zap him but let's be fair here:

He did trigger the alarm, and they were responding to it.

What I want to know is whether or not he was drunk. Forgets to turn off the alarm? Crashes on the couch without even undressing? Sounds like drunk behavior to me.

So if he's passed out drunk on the couch, they come in & yell at him with no response, what is the next correct move? If I'm responding to an alarm I sure as hell am not going to go tap him on the shoulder.
