While there is no question that the cop flew off the handle, he should have just shown him his ID and acted respectfully instead of questioning him like some stereotypical whiny "i know my rights" college kid.

Goddamn college kids.

I'll tell them to stay off of your lawn.

i'm a college kid.

That's what I thought of after seeing video + cop and reading the thread. And also the video where the skateboarder takes a dive.

That doesn't work. I got ticketed once in an illegal speed trap with a radar reading that was never shown to me. I followed the instructions on TicketAssassin very closely, and the cop still gave me a ticket and threatened to take me to jail BECAUSE I WAS READING THE EFFIN' TICKET to make sure everything was correct.

Contrary to popular belief, you have absolutely no right to see the radar (speaking from NH). Maybe Cali is weird.

I know that we have no right to see the radar. You can request so, and the police can deny it. However when I asked him about it he just went on saying bogus things like how he didn't save it, instead of a flat-out no. There's a difference between legitimate and bogus in my book. If he refused I'd be ok with that, but he didn't and lied.

I asked for the officer's badge number... and he screamed at me to get out of the car and proceeded to pat me down about 10x harder than I've ever been patted down at the airport.. and he threw me against the car and I hit my chin on the roof. And he said, "You still want my badge number?!"

He never gave me his badge number.. nor did he give us any papers.. and he told me his name was 'Officer Murphy.' And.. when I called the police station to complain about him, they told me there as no 'Officer Murphy.'

and.. that was just ONE out of 3 different experiences I've had with an unfair out-of-control cop on a power trip..

Why dihnt you get the plate number then?

Our radar doesn't log speed. So, if you asked me, it wouldn't be saved. *shrug* That's how it is.

I've had my fair share of experiences with power tripping cops.
I was once pulled over for speeding in a 35mph business area at 3AM for going 55.
When the cop came over, he immediately asked if I was drinking or using any drugs without any apparent reason.
When I told him no, he told me to get out of the car, in which he violently grabbed me and patted me down, and yelled at me to get to the back of his car.
He then proceeded to ransack my car.
After not finding anything, he let me go.
However, what disturbs me the most is that about 2 blocks after I drove away, he pulls me over again, and tells me he left my credit card on the back of my trunk, and asked if I picked it up, and that I should go back to look for it.
WHY THE FVCK did he take my credit card out of my wallet to begin with!?!? It sounds like an obvious bullsh!t story to steal my credit card.

Wow... this is insane. I've seen some cops go crazy, especially in New Orleans, but this guy really blew up for absolutely no reason at all.

Wow that cop is ridiculous. I hope that kid turns the video into CNN or NBC

I guess I have been lucky with cops. When I used to drive this shitty/shady car I was pulled over 13 times. 4 times I was searched. 1 time they found two used bongs...but ended up giving them back to me ( this was in Irvine btw, most heavily patrolled, safest city in the OC). Out of all those pull overs I only received a ticket for tinted windows.

Sometimes the cops are just as bad as the criminals, as demonstrated time and time again by the LAPD.

well he does absoluting nothing to kill the stereotype that the typical american cop is a power tripping douche bag who always makes every situation far more hostile than it needed to be. i am actually shocked he didnt taser him, i was expecting that because thats what power tripping US cops do.

really all the cop needed to do was ask him to move on because they have problems with car theft. thats all he needed to do.

and half way through did the cop just say he has no problem with the boy parking there? when that is exactly the reason he pulled him up? and use his turn signal next time when the on board clearly shows he did? hahahaha

that man should be fired and not allowed to work in any law enforcement this side of wal-mart rent a cops. i wouldnt hire the c**t

some how i find that i little odd..... you dont log speed? so what if you have to prove something? is it simply your word against theirs?

Meh, I have had a gun pulled on me by a cop for having a broken headlight (when it was jsut starting to get dark even), because I was pulling out of the "bad" part of town in a beat up old car. Cop pretty much did the same thing as happens here and threatened to take me to jail and file a bunch of random charges. But anyways, this dude was looking for cops, so I still sorta don't have all that much sympathy, I know cops can be total power tripping assholes, but so does everyone else who has ever dealt with them, so why go provoke them and make a video of it? Both people are really to blame here, the kids for be a douche and trying to act suspicious just to provoke a cop, and the cop for going off on a power trip over a very small issue.

The cop freaks out and makes him get out of the car then explodes at him for about 5 minutes naming off random laws he could have him arrested for. When the cop realizes there is a camera he starts getting nicer.

He threatened the kid like 10 times to have him arrested for resisting arrest.

1. The cop asks him why he is in the parking lot, and the kid asks if he has done anything wrong.

2. The cop asks him for his license etc, and the kid says something like, "have I comit a crime?".

These are the two things the kid did wrong. You don't answer a question from an authority figure with a question. If he had just complied there wouldn't have been a problem. People that are reluctant to give information like this are usually guilty of somthing or are hiding something. Though the cop did lose control, the kid pretty much enabled the situation. For all we know, this cop just got done with a bar fight call or something and was on his last nerve.

I don't give a fuck if the cop was in a bar fight and the kid did provoke it (BTW you can/should ask what you did wrong but yeah he should have given his ID).

a cop can not threaten to make up charges and arrest him for bullshit reasons. the copw as threatening to stick him with 9 charges and resissting arrest even when he didn't do anything. then he lied saying he was speeeding and did nto use a turn single.

It does not matter what the cop went through during the day. it is NO EXCUSE for what he did.

he should be fired. how many other times did he actually arrest someone with made up charges?

The guy did absolutely nothing wrong at all.

The cop even says he didn't use his turn signals, but you can see on the video that he did use his turn signals.

The cop was making this up from the start.
