Should there be a Cop Misbehavior Subforum?

The constant postings, even after an official thread was cut short, are getting way out of hand. I thought the agreement was that an official thread wasn't needed as long as these types of posts were kept at a minimum. Since the closure of that thread, posts have multiplied.

I think its time for a sub.

Why is it out of hand? Why does it bother you to see cop threads vs drive for 5, hate the rich, hate the poor, hate immigrants, or Obama threads?

Hopefully it's run its course, it seemed some of the later threads were almost just to try and make a point.

Grow up. If you think you've characterized P&N with that stupid list well I have to ask why you even post here.

I hope so. I was thinking that since the official thread was closed, some posters took it as a blank check, others just wanted to send a message.

Maybe we should have an Obama subforum too. And an ebola one. And a voter ID one. We missed the boat on the Obamacare one already.

EDIT: Oh, forgot climate change.

In the past an Iraq war fuck up forum along with everything about Bush. I don't get why having threads about how terrible some of the police have become bothers people so much.

So why does it bother you vs all the other stuff posted in this forum?

It gets old to see the same thread over and over especially when half the time people are raging about nothing.

Circumstances can be totally different yet its the same, fuck da police garbage. The irony is that the majority of posters who make these threads have no problem with an oversized government either.

I see it differently. Most of these threads are spotlighting how terribly out of control some of these departments have become. It also illustrates the results decades of war on drugs has created with the police vs our civil liberties. These are very vital topics to discuss in a political forum.

I think we should have a subforum for anytime any profession screws up or does something outrageous. Oh wait, seems only people care about when the cops do it. Apparently they are never allowed to make mistakes and when one does, that means we should hate on all cops.

No they aren't. They point out the misdirection of one cop normally. But then people like yourself extrapolate that to an entire department, or worse yet, all cops in general.

Civil liberties, seems like a vast majority of the country doesn't have an issue with cops taking away civil liberties. Yet, from the bitching, you'd think the cops do nothing but tread on people's rights.

If it was just one cop there'd just be one thread. But it’s not about one cop. Its lots of cops hence the multiple threads.

Surely it's more egregious that there are bad cops than someone posts about it?

Eh most of the responses from the departments in the stories we read about is how the officer followed procedure. Meaning it is a department issue.

Im not really following that last remark. You realize most of the topics on this forum an avg american wouldnt care about right? The point of this forum is to discuss these issues regardless if a majority approve of said policy.

One cop per incident/thread.... Wow, you can't be this stupid to not understand that is what was meant.

Of course they all aren't about just one single solitary cop.....

How would you like it if everytime you made a mistake, your employer came right out, before a proper investigation and said you were wrong every single time? Wouldn't you expect them to side with their employee until there was evidence or investigation to the contrary?

Why the double standard for a police officer?

And you're getting worked up about a plethora of threads rather than a plethora of bad cops.

Where am I getting worked up? I'm asking questions, answering questions, and taking a poll.

Why are you getting worked up?......

Well your second post in this thread was insulting someone that disagreed with you...

I'm not worked up, I'm happy with the way things are.

Most of these stories the department said they followed procedure were after the investigation. And lets not conflate what I do and what a cop does. When i screw up at work. Somebody loses access to a network resource. When a cop fucks up at work somebody loses their civil liberties via a beating, invasion of privacy, shooting, or at worst their life.

No, it was pointing out how silly their lists sounds and that obviously if they really saw it like that, they are doubly silly for staying here to post. Obviously he was being overly sarcastic.
