Your declaration of "no one" is false. A lot of people do it for the reasons I mentioned.
Not everyone that gotten out have a clear direction of where they want to go, so they choose reserves. Those that do so, most likely will reenlist after a bit, because they can't do anything else on the outside. I've seen many of those.
Just because you don't know about it, doesn't mean "no one" does it. One of my ex-colleague was in the reserves after his active tours, he did it for time count towards retirement. It's just another way for him to get federal benefits when his 20 years hit.
Maybe you should look into that.
I was saying no one does it to avoid being inactive reserve... If you intended to address that, you failed. You never really addressed the fact that when people say reserve they mean the reserves and not inactive reserve either. Why would he care about his military career if he was on inactive reserve status?
