And yes, Stein voters count as leftists and she didn't have much support. But she got about 1% in the general in many areas that were important. In Michigan and Wisconsin that 1% would have given Hillary the win, and in PA it would have made it a virtual tie. Not to mention all the Bernie Bros who stayed home and didn't vote. That's far from being lock step. A lot of Bernie Bros did vote for Hillary in the general, but not enough. And many of them did so not because Hillary was such a great candidate to them, but to vote against Trump, who was an obvious anathema of a candidate.

Not Sandra Bland - she showed her ass, got arrested, and then could not get a single person to accept her phone calls - not exactly a Sterling example of character - before killing herself. But Garner and Gray, I agree were horrible. But they were NOT racially motivated. Garner was being arrested for a totally bullshit SJW cause and resisted arrest. Gray was being arrested and ran. (News flash: White guys don't away with that shit either.) But you do make a good point.

Ferguson too is an example of government horribly abusing its citizens, just because it can. But the narrative being sold is that cops just murder black men at will and get away with it. THAT is a false narrative. And it's getting cops murdered.

I think you can trace media appeasement of the right to desire not to lose eyeballs for advertisement as the real source of the wish not to offend. It used to be we have just a few major broadcasters that competed on journalistic objectivity as a source to pull audience but not there are places like Fox Smooze that provide the conservative brain defect with a safe space. Today people have the option to watch cult media that is tailored to produce a community accepted place for lunatics. This is a good point but the fact still remains the new american 24hr media is trivial to manipulate. It's arguable by (evolutionary) "design" to fit the framework of a PR-based society, but it's simply the case that people with the means to pay for PR have been better at using it to their advantage. Trump's real genius is the way he learned to command headlines even without paying, by saying/doing outrageous crap they're compelled to cover AND resonates with his minions, eg "mexicans are rapists".

Also btw, the few major broadcasters didn't do what they used to for the news out of virtue or ratings, but per FCC agreement in exchange for spectrum rights.

Sandra Bland was pulled over for a "minor traffic violation" (read: driving while black) and the arresting officer was put on administrative leave after reviewing the dashcam footage. I think it's terribly sad that you have no empathy for her, but the grievance of BLM is not that 'cops are murdering black people', it's that black people's lives are treated like they do not matter.
