My comment is borrow from another thread where a poster lamented that the current generation of CT politicians are total duds. And therefore bring forth the pitipot gloom and doom and wallow in it.
As for me, I tend to be an optimist, and note that a State that can produce a Lowell Weicher is not doomed, and its more of a generational crisis in transition. I can remember a 1960 protest song starting out with, I believe in God and Senator Dodd, even if I don't compare the now retiring Dodd with his daddy. And whose next is Lieberman come 2012, and now a political dead man walking. But but between the two, they have stood astride CT for too long, and now CT is ready for a new generation of leadership while that new generation has no experience leading. There will be no doubt some false starts, but I am still bullish on CT.
CT is a dynamic state, with an ever varied set of constituencies, but I very much doubt it will ever buy the T bagger set of doctrines. That new set of young and dynamic set of leaders will emerge to re invent CT once again.
